Heated seats not that warm

My heated seats never seem to get very warm. I'm assuming they were just designed that way, I have the Perforated leather seats. how hot do your heated seats get? Also every once in a while the heated seats won't turn on, I hit the button and the light comes on for about a second or 2 then off. It will do this until I shut the car off and restart.

When set on High, my seats will roast my butt in 5 minutes! When on low, I need to turn it off after 10 minutes! I drive with temperatures down to -30 deg, so they are working great for me! I have the perf leather so not sure why your seats are not heating very well? I would look at visiting the dealer to review the problem . . .

Yeah that is probably a good idea, luckily I have a very close friend that is a tech at a jeep dealer.

Heated seats not that warm

yea same here... my seats get so hot that its almost unbearable on the high setting. I always have to turn them down to low when i get in after remote start.

Even my steering wheel gets burning hot. But that i don't mind as much, especially when its only in the single digits or teens.

What dealership? Mine tries to rape me with unnecessary service whenever I walk in.

Re: Heated seats not that warm

I've seen comments in other threads regarding the heated seats being pretty weak compared to other vehicles.

Now I'm starting to question my own..."low" is a joke, and "hi" barely classifies as warm.

As mentioned to JDB636, I would also take your vehicle in to the dealer for a checkup.

I am one of those that have raised this concern in other threads. My front seats get warm, but never hot as some of you describe. My steering wheel gets very warm quickly, but not the seats. I have already had the heating elements/pads replaced in the drivers seat, which resulted in the same outcome. I spoke to another tech. today and he said that there have been many complaints with the Grand Cherokee's and the heating pads in the front seats are too small and simply inadequate. He went on to say that the pads in the new Cherokee's are larger and hotter?

In my opinion the GC's seatrs are not hot enough and the surface area that gets warm is too small, as the outside portion of my legs never get warm (and no I am not a 'large' man)

I can tell you for sure that the heated seats in my GC are the worst of any vehicle I have ever owned. I wonder if there is a difference, or was ever a change based on production date? My GC is a 2014 and was produced in February of 2014.

I'm glad to hear some of you are happy with your seats but it makes me wonder if there are isolated problems, or I am just expecting too much based on past vehicles?

Re: Heated seats not that warm

I agree that the actual heated surface area of the Grand Cherokee seats is too small.

The heated seats in my wife's 2014 BMW 328i sedan are MUCH better. And when I say better I mean a larger surface area of the seat gets warm.

Ok, so maybe we are just spoiled and if not us our wives for sure. My wife's BMW 650 is one of the cars I was comparing and agree the surface area is amazing. The seats get heated all the way out to the side bolsters and even out onto the leg extension under the lower thighs.

I still think I may have a problem given the fact your seats get hot and you clearly understand how a good heated seat should feel.

Re: Heated seats not that warm

The seats in my 15 altitude get warm at best. It seems the temp varies. Sometimes warmer than other times with similar clothing. My wifes envoy denali seats get very hot on high. Not really crazy about them tearing into my seats so going to live with it for now.

It definitely sounds like you have a problem with your heated seat because my butt starts to burn after only 10 minutes on the high setting, on low I can last 30 minutes or so before I have to turn off the seat entirely.
