heated seats question

It seems that only the back half of the seat portion of my heated seats get warm. The front 8" of the seat doesn't get warm at all. Is this the norm?;)

That's pretty much the way it's been in any heated seats I've had - just the butt is warmed, but not the rear of the thighs. Also, for the back, just the lumbar is heated, not not the middle/high parts of the back.

And is it me, or is the 'low' setting on the WK2 just about useless? I'm actually not even sure it's working at all on mine; maybe it's defective. I've tried turning the passenger seat to low (when nobody's sitting in it), and 10 minutes later when I feel the seat, it still feels pretty much cold.

I usually start with the high setting. After the temp. gets to where you are comfortable, set it to low. It will stay comfortable without burning your butt. The high setting gets too hot after awhile. My last vehicle did the same thing but didn't have a low setting so it was either on or off. I like this system much better.

That's what I do. But on the low setting, I've been debating if the seat is really keeping my butt warm, or if my butt is just keeping the seat warm.
+1. I'm with Jeeters. I don't notice much, if any, heat when the seat is set on low. I start off on high, drop it to low and then wonder if it is even on. Eventually I get tired of looking at the LED and shut the seat off. Doesn't seem to make much of a difference between low and off.....

The only thing I think "low" mode is good for is illuminating the led in the switch.
On "high", my seats work great. Not as good as the heat elements in my previous WJ though. They would put tan your rear end!

I'm one of those rare animals that is not a big fan of the pee-pee seats (as we call them).
MY wife on the other hand uses them even in summer.
I noticed when I did try them (to make sure they worked) that the heat was concentrated in the rear portion of the seat. Very little if any up front.

This is in contrast to the heated seats in my 2006 Pacifica in which the whole seat is heated.
In the winter I would sometimes turn the seats on, then put my cold hands under my thighs on the seat front to warm them.
I just can't leave them on too long, as I dislike the feeling.

Now that heated steering wheel - Wow!

Anyone else ever notice that heated seats seem to interfere with bluetooth? My Subaru forester made it impossible to have a phone conversation when the heated seats were on....tons of static. I do notice some static with bluetooth on my WK2 when the heated seats are on, but not nearly as much.

Mine does that when my fog lights are on! lol

so i was going to have heated seats installed in my laredo, and the dealer gives me a call an tells me the parts are in, BUT, because of the air bag control sensor in the passenger seat they could only heat the back part of the passenger seat. i was like what a waste of money. So needless to say i passed up the heated seats, and got the remote start. So maybe that is why only half your seats are heating up. let me know if this helps out.

My SRT8 seats only heat up the suede sections of the seat. most are like that.
