Re: Heated seats question

2015 High Altitude Owner. My steering wheel gets nice and toasty; really fast too. Almost too hot. Like others, my heated driver's seat barely gets lukewarm on high. I can't even tell if the seat is heated or if it just body heat. I need to test my passenger side seat. I was going to have dealer look at it when I bring car in for first service.

I came from a 2005 Touareg and the heated seats got nice and toasty. They were hot to the touch on high. There was no question that the seat heat was on even on the low setting.

Re: Heated seats question

Does anyone have a high altitude with heated seats that work well?

Re: Heated seats question

Registered to post to this topic. I am coming from a 2014 Durango R/T and those seats were nuclear hot.

Picked up a 2015 HA, 5.7l on Thursday. 2 hour trip each way to see family and the heated seats did not work for more than half of the time. It was -10 to -25 this weekend in MN.

Ice cold when remote starting, ice cold when starting from the push button and turning them on. Tried cycling them on and off a few times from the touch screen with no luck. Magically about an hour into the trip they would cycle on and get nice and warm throughout.

Brought the vehicle into the dealer this morning (without an appointment) to have them take a look and they agree they are not working properly. They were too busy to further diagnose, so the vehicle is going back in on Thursday for a more detailed diagnosis.

I will follow up with more details as they come out.

Re: Heated seats question

Keep us posted. This dampens my enthusiasm for moving to a HA when my overland heated seats work great.

Re: Heated seats question

Im having the same issue with my '15 altitude. Both seats are functioning the same. When i turn the heated seats on they warm up for about 5 minutes, and then slowly the heat disappears. And ill never feel them again. However if i go to my screen and turn them OFF, and then On again i feel the heat recycle on again. But once again after a few it dies down. Its beginning to piss me off

Re: Heated seats question

It would be great if one of the mods would consolidate the various HA heated seat threads and sticky for the time being.

There are a number of HA owners with the same issue and some are starting to head into dealers for a fix (myself included).

I only have an option for all starts, cannot differentiate between what kind of start. I have a 2014 summit, do I need a icon next update for this option..

Under settings in U-Connect you should have the ability to set it for all starts or not at all. I believe the 15 screens have more specific set options.

Edit...

This is what my screen looks like in my 14 Overland. If yours looks like this then having this checked turns the heated seats and steering wheel on with either a normal or remote start.

Yep, have all of that checked. It's not a matter of the seats turning on, it's that when they are on they are not working correctly - they barely get warm.

Dropped mine off this morning and should hear something by mid afternoon from the service department (or so they say). I am happy I was able to get the service manager to confirm they were not working correctly on Monday so that I don't end up with a 'Cannot replicate problem' resolution to my ticket!

More to come!

Re: Heated seats question

Heard back from the dealer.

'Well, we compared to another on the lot and yours....

is about 60 or 70 degrees cooler, so we know we have a problem.'

Phew.

They opened a star case and will be holding the vehicle overnight. I should hear more tomorrow.

In the meantime, I get to run around in this sweet, sweet base spec Patriot. It really makes me appreciate what I have!

Thanks for the update. Do you have the HA? I was taking mine in Saturday to have the heating parts replaced but not sure I'm going to be able to do so due to weather... Keep us updafed.
