Heated seats question

Will verifying readings using a multimeter help? From one that's hot and one that's not. See if there are any differences.

Something isn't right. It's obvious if you've had heated seats before (and my prior vehicle also had ventilated seats). Too hot/burn is a cop out.

well they said I already had the flash that was in the TSB, otherwise my seats and wheel are functioning normally.

on the bright side, 21-045-15 sorted my transmission right out.

That's essentially what they told me.

Mine are terrible too, regular Altitude, October 2015 build.

This is the first vehicle Ive ever had where I can leave them on all the time and not really worry about turning them off. Every single previous vehicle I have owned would have me turning the heated seats off after a few miles because they had done their job and were now too warm.
Im also tempted to say the seats got worse after the heated steering wheel software flash TSB, but I cant say for sure because it wasnt overly cold before then and I hadnt used them much.

Re: Heated seats question

I have 14 Overland and the seats barely get warm. My previous 2011 Overland those seats would roast you in about 5 minutes and I would have to turn them off. The 2014, I can have the seats on for an hour and just barely notice they are on.

Re: Heated seats question

Here is a TSB that just came out last Thursday on the heated seat problem. Pulled this off of another thread.

http://www.wk2jeeps.com/tsb/tsb_wk2_0801616.pdf

Mentions 'updating the Comfort Seat and Wheel Module (CSWM) software for the KL/UF vehicles or the Heated Seat Module (HSM) software for the W3/WK/WD/LD/LA and LX vehicles built on or after September 2, 2015 and on or before October 27, 2015'

Hopefully get mine in this weekend.

Re: Heated seats question

Is that for seats or just the steering wheel? I read it as steering wheel issue only.

Re: Heated seats question

In the 'overview' area it states: Heated Seat Module (HSM) software for the W3/WK/WD/LD/LA and LX vehicles. And your WK has to have been built on or after September 2, 2015 and on or before October 27, 2015'

Re: Heated seats question

Thanks for posting. Doesn't look like this would apply to my 2014 Overland, right? My seats barely get warm still.

Re: Heated seats question

My seats/wheel get super hot especially when I remote start in the morning. It's been a life saver this past week with temps dipping down into the negative teens at night 😱

Re: Heated seats question

Yes but the symptoms are specific to the steering wheel issue.

SYMPTOM/CONDITION:

A customer may describe that the heated steering wheel shuts off to soon, usually after 30

seconds and does not achieve satisfactory temperature. This is an intermittent condition

and more noticeable at temps below 19.5C (67.1F).
