did the ballcap fit ok or did you take it in for service fitting?

You mean we have a black box? Sweet I wonder if it records audio.

From the original post: "I left it running while in park and ran inside to grab something."

While the OP doesn't state he locked the vehicle, I assumed he would; as everyone is right that leaving a vehicle unattended/engine-running without locking it would be foolish. I assumed the OP would not have been that foolish. Perhaps a mistake on my part, but I found no reason to assume he didn't from his post.

You are correct in that using remote-start won't let someone else operate the vehicle (even if they could gain entrance) without having the FOBIK present.

Anyway.... Back to the main thrust of this thread....
Apparently with the remote start you must get in and push the startr button or if you try to drive off it will just shutdown. Obviously you will have to have the keyfob with you at that time or it will also shutdown.

Granite Crystal Metallic. May not have the Jeep, but I'll still drop in and keep up with the news.

No, they do not record audio.

That's just it. You can't drive off. You can not shift out of park without pushing the start button.

I also call BS. Now, if he would have said it rolled backwards, then it would be plausible. I have seen a few Dodge Chargers (police vehicles), including my own, not fully engage into park when in a hurry. I also have a video of a fellow Officer who exited his Charger and it popped into reverse. Luckily for him he was able to jump back in and put it in park, CORRECTLY. LOL.

Re: Hello all!! Big problem with my new Jeep grand cherokee Overland!

I've left my WK2 running and in park several times.

Not surprisingly it didn't go anywhere.

Re: Hello all!! Big problem with my new Jeep grand cherokee Overland!

sorry to hear about this, but I lived in the US for more than 2 years, and is a very bad thing that you guys are not used to use the parking break. I used to drive (15 years) manual cars, so Im very used to put it even now with my GC HEMI.

Re: Hello all!! Big problem with my new Jeep grand cherokee Overland!

When I go to park I leave it in drive, engage the e-brake, shift to neutral let it shift until the e-brake takes hold, then I engage in park. That way the transmission isn't used to lock the vehicle in place.

Re: Hello all!! Big problem with my new Jeep grand cherokee Overland!

Sometimes when I'm sleeping I wake up and find my Grand Cherokee in my bed touching me in my naughty place. I took it to the dealer and they said that was normal.

Time to find a new dealer! While it is normal for your GC to climb into bed with you when it is lonely, it should not be touching you in "naughty places". Are you sure it wasn't just cold and was trying to warm up?
