Smile Hello Everyone

Just purchased my first Jeep and I love it! I will definately be using the forums here for some help. I've got small issue with the passenger side door when shutting it after driving and stopping. The door simply will not latch when you close it naturally. I have to put my hand down into the handle area, then it will latch when you close it. Any help or can you point me in the right direction on this site? Thanks All!!!

Re: Hello Everyone

You can have the dealer adjust it. I had a similar issue. The GC doors take a little extra effort to close when new. As the door seals break in, the doors will close easier. Also, the GC is a "tight" vehicle. You will notice that the doors and rear hatch will close with less effort if you crack a window or another door is open. Even today on mine after 8500 miles, it will often take 2 trys to close the rear hatch if I forget to give it a little extra push. My doors close much easier.

Personally, I would recommend not having the dealer adjust anything until you get some miles on it. Unless the door is obviously mis-aligned, they could make it worse. Best luck.

Re: Hello Everyone

Thanks Justal13. As I've only owned it for two weeks now, I am seeing how this works and doesn't work with different scenarios. As the driver with the fob in my pocket, I can walk around the car and close the passenger door with my hand inside the door handle, but not outside of the door handle. But my wife when getting out of the passenger side, can not close the door any matter of form or action. The latch simply will not engage. I'm stumped.
