Re: Help help help!! Anyone pleae help!

This is the approach I took at the suggestion of my dealership owner..

1. Compose a very direct letter to Sergio M., CEO, Chrysler, outlining the issues surrounding the vehicle.
2. The same letter should be forwarded to Mike Manley, presidient, Jeep
3. The owner of a Jeep dealersip should notify his/her disitrict manager of the situation regarding your vehicle and what you have done.
4. Within a couple of days your case will be assigned "high pripority" and you will get nearly daily calls with up date as to what the process will be to resolve your issues or not.

Thsi process from start to finish took about two months for me and while time consuming it was fairly smooth. I can not undercore enough how improtant a role the dealer plays in this process and it sounds like perhaps yuor realationship with your purcahsing dealership is not even close enough to for him/her to help your cause and you should look for another dealership partnership. I must be honest and state that if you have been anything but a model, fair customer and you have not involved the dealership owner, sales manager, salesman and service manager and secured their buy in that all of your troubles are real you will not have a leg to stand on. You be fair with them and they will be fair with you. If you do not feel comfortable taking this approach ( I have used process twice in the last 15 years) then utilize the attorney lemon Law route and it will cost you alot more and get you less. best of luck, all in your court.

Re: Help help help!! Anyone pleae help!

Hi Everyone!

Thank you all for your replies and suggestions.

I agree that I shouldn't be the one to take the hit. That's crazy.

As far as those who say its all a software issue, its not. From what I have read on other posts and by my experience, it is something in how they built it; it seems because no matter how many "updates" or "flashes" I have had, it doesn't help. If I replaced the whole unit, I get a refurbished one (confirmed by the area manager), which I have read you get a high chance of it not fixing the problem. Regarding the transmission, the only thing the service manager was willing to "duplicate" was the shifting (but only in stop and go traffic, which is not the case for us--happens all the time: all he was willing to admit though). They did a "flash" for both modules and now my vehicle shifts worse, much worse than before!

I have been into the dealership so many times, I can barely count. This last time I left it for over a week for the service manager to personally drive it around as his vehicle. Even though he is much better than the last, he still didn't really try that hard it seems (not many problems were admitted).

Finding another dealership is not an option either. I have been to many dealerships in the Denver metro area and they all are the same. I have read that Prestige is decent (I believe) but they are 35ish miles away (one way), which I know isn't the farthest that people have driven but is not really an option at this point, and I shouldn't HAVE to go to a different dealership.

Regardless, I will still reserve the right to do a lemon law, but I will have to go through arbitration, if something doesn't get resolved. I am hoping it will. I hope I can get a buyback and if Chrysler won't give me my money back, will at least put me in a later build that doesn't have these issues.

It seems things may be looking up as someone contacted me that actually seems to be appalled by how we have been treated in the case manager realm and the dealerships and with all the problems we are having. Thus, hopefully, Chrysler is willing to try to redeem their name to us (not holding my breath though: my trust in them is no where near established).

Yet, I will take into consideration the letter to the CEO and the Jeep president.

I have tried to work with the area manager, GM, and service manager, and they all stonewalled or lied to me, which is why I sent the lemon law claim into Chrysler in the first place (they and all the other dealers and the case managers left me no other choice). However, like 14Summit indicated that was the first step.

One thing about me is that I will not go away. Justice will be served one way or another, its just up to Chrysler which path they want to chose. I am a fighter and to be honest I will take this to the Denver press if I have to.

Regardless, I thank you all for your support. One question though: if by some stroke of luck I do get a new vehicle, does anyone know if there are a great deal of problems with the tech package? Also, does anyone know how difficult it would be to find an Overland with OR2? I have been looking, and none seem to be there. I would prefer to get the 18s as though the 20s are nice, we do go do some light to medium off roading to get to camping and the Fronterras are a joke, especially in snow. And to my knowledge the only 20s that are semi meant for m/s are the Nittos, which have gotten mixed reviews. There are a lot better options for the 18s (which makes sense).

Thanks!

Matt

Do both a Google and contact the Colorado Bar Association.
The attorney you want is one which both seem to recommend, and one who is willing to tell you roughly how much it will cost to proceed along each step of the way.

Re: Help help help!! Anyone pleae help!

My sincere sympathies regarding your HVAC & U Connect problems.
Sadly, because of these issues, I just CANCELLED my order for a 2014 GC Ltd. (which I was really looking forward to).
QUESTION;
How do I confirm a Chrysler/Jeep resolution to these problems?
( I'd really like to buy a new, reliable Jeep GC Ltd).

Re: Help help help!! Anyone pleae help!

I live in Denver too. The dealers for Jeep are all "not good". Sorry if anyone here works for one in the Denver area. But I have been here for 40 years and seen every Jeep dealer. Not one has a competent or caring service department.

I have used the dispute settlement review board for 2 vehicles. One was a 2002 Ford Ranger with a braking problem. The other was to replace the hard top on a 2001 Jeep Wrangler due to the massive "sag" problem.

I was successful in both cases. The reasons though must be safety concerns. Lemon laws are different, consult an attorney for that. You don't need an attorney for dispute settlement. You simply file your claim and they will set a date (once a month) to allow you to speak your side to a review board of three or four people. One of the people is a certified third party mechanic. It only takes a few minutes. Then about 30 days later you will get a decision. But as I said you must state your case as a safety concern and show that repairs were done three times for the same problem.

The hard part is not trading before your review and knowing you may be denied.

If you won't buy a vehicle because someone else had a problem with that vehicle, you might as well get a horse. Every vehicle ever built has had units with problems.

I dunno jacko15 if that's sage advice. I went to a dude ranch in Tuscon 2 yrs ago and every horse either kicked, farted or trail snacked. I'd suggest public transport or walking.

But seriously jdurkin837, to be fair to the platform you choose be sure to seek out the appropriate forums and blogs and let us know what trouble-free vehicle you choose that is anywhere near the feature set of the JGC.

1200 * A DAY * are being built.

And you're not buying because *how many* posted a problem?

(What I really want to say, "you're __ _____" might be considered rude, albeit accurate.)

I don't know what I was thinking! I was also having a senior moment. The very first horse I ever rode, a Shetland pony at a church fair over 50 years ago, promptly turned his head back and bit my leg!
