Re: Help help help!! Anyone pleae help!

To give a counterpoint to this thread, I have 42K on my 2012 JGC Limited with a lot of options. The last time it was at the dealer was when I bought it - not a single problem and I service it myself. Brakes still have a lot left and tires (20s) are about ready to be replaced. Have owned several types of Jeeps since '97 and have always had very good luck.

Re: Help help help!! Anyone pleae help!

BarryB,
Thanks for your reply.
Having had a loaded 2002 GC Ltd. that was rock solid & trouble free ( until a little ol lady T- boned me & totaled it), it's hard to settle for another car except another GC.
I am going to buy that GC after I take it on a extended (2 hr) test drive. I'm sure that the GC will exceed my expectations .
Thanks again for your advice

However, like 14Summit indicated that was the first step.
I would imagine Chrysler works the same in every "area" they service, and if that is indeed the case, you should know that the "area managers" basically have all the power. Even above "Jeep Care" or whatever the corporate department is whose job it is to make you feel all warm and fuzzy, like you're being taken care of.

Been there, done that.

If your area manager has determined that you are just a pain in his ass with a whole bunch of minor software issues that can either be solved by a flash, part replacement, etc., then he has the power to say "sorry, no new vehicle for you," at which point your only recourse is to OFFICIALLY file a Lemon Law case with an attorney and just let the process go through. No amount of screaming or hollering from you is going to make it go any faster, or resolve your issues. I know. My issues were so bad they put my family at risk, and I got very upset, but tried to remain rational in my discussions with Chrysler. They didn't care. You're just another number, just another buyback. They do it every day. You're just more of a pain/fighter than the others, but either way, they don't care. They're a giant corporation and they can't make these cars fast enough. They're all sold the moment they leave the factory.

Essentially, the "area manager" viewed my case as a "simple warranty issue," and even when the Chrysler Car guy got involved, there was no changing that. Chrysler Care had zero power compared to the area manager. The area manager had the final say until the law kicked in.

One thing about me is that I will not go away. Justice will be served one way or another, its just up to Chrysler which path they want to chose. I am a fighter and to be honest I will take this to the Denver press if I have to.
Good luck with that. Justice will probably be served, but it will take time, and it will take you keeping excellent paperwork and making sure the dealer documents EVERY SINGLE ITEM when you bring the car in and get it back unfixed.

And it will take a lawyer, and your state's Lemon Law.

From what I can tell, you haven't officially satisfied your state's Lemon Law status, but that's not always necessary. A good Lemon Law lawyer can work with Chrysler's buyback division and possibly get something worked out for you.

Best of luck, and I hope this helps a little.

Re: Help help help!! Anyone pleae help!

AMC2002 is exactly on the money with his assesement of the situation. Having had two Jeep (2) buy backs over the past 14 years i can say I have been completely impressed and satified with the way Jeep handle my situations. The first one, a 2002 Liberty was purcahsed back at their suggestion and completely surprised me and i was thrilled, the second a 2014 GC was a very weird situation with a noise that everyone heard and no one could fix. The dealer owner and the regional rep do in fact have complete power over the process. If you have been a jerk with rants and kinking tires you will get no where and good luck with attorneys and lemon laws, you will lose your shirt in the big picture. Be fair, play straight and get the dealership to advocate for you and you have a very good chance of getting a new vehicle. if you have worn out your welcome at your purchasing dealership go somewhere else and leave your attitude at the door. For the way Jeep has handled me i will stick with the brand for ever, just purcahsed my second 2014 jeep and love both of them. i do not work for the company either.

Re: Help help help!! Anyone pleae help!

@ragoodsp - The one other thing I will say (at least partly in the OP's defense) is that it seems very few areas of the country are blessed with excellent Jeep dealers. It sounds like you have an awesome one. There are about six dealers within a 20 mile radius of me, and during the course of my Jeep issues I heard from people on all of them -- basically, they all suck in one way or another.

For some of us, especially those of us in NY/NJ, the only possible way to get a good result is to file for Lemon Law because I have heard our area manager is a real tool. In my case, the dealer was a mom and pop operation that, while well-meaning, didn't have the clout or will to push our position with the area manager or with Chrysler.

OP - Although it is extremely frustrating to have a vehicle that is not working reliably and as designed, and while JeepGarage is very tolerant and almost encouraging of venting by those of us who have issues, you'll find hollering and stamping of feet is not likely to get you far. Your real teeth is with the law, but you have to be patient and let the process happen.

As for "losing your shirt" with a lawyer, it doesn't work like that. I got every penny back that I paid into my Jeep, basically got a free Jeep for the months I had it. Chrysler pays the Lemon Law lawyer. Not a penny comes out of your pocket for that, at least in NY. If that sounds like a bargain, I can assure you it wasn't. Panicked on-the-road-in-heavy-traffic calls from my wife about our Jeep losing power while my 5-year-old was in the car will take a year or more off your life.

Re: Help help help!! Anyone pleae help!

I suppose.

Don't know what I was thinking ordering another one. My '14 HEMI Summit was bought back (for sale at Fury CDJ in St Paul, MN now, torn down in their back lot, for anyone wanting to buy a broke-ass '14), and my '11 Overland is in the shop now for transmission problems... The hell was I thinking?!

Hey, if they don't know how to read reviews and research a vehicle before purchasing it, serves them right.

Re: Help help help!! Anyone pleae help!

I'm holding on to my 2011 to find the scope of this Lifetime MaxCare warranty... At least until 2016 if they decide to launch the Grand Wagoneer. If it doesn't arrive by then, I'm moving to a new Denali.

Ain't. Nobody. Got. Time. Fo. Dat.
