Help I want my OEM remote start.

I want my OEM remote start.

I've had this 2015 Laredo since Sept 2014 with the dealer promising to install a OEM remote start. They keep telling me that it hasn't been released by Chrysler as yet. I've contacted Chrysler to ask when it would be released and they refer me back to the dealer. The dealer refers me back to Chrysler.

Should I go aftermarket? or ask the dealer to consider a buy back?

Tired of waiting.

I only see the 2014 version on Amazon, etc. So, they are probably telling you the truth.

I have to say that winters are a lot more bearable with the integrated remote start, heated seats, and heated steering wheel. Plus, the OEM remote start has great range.

As for what to do with the car, you'll have to figure that one out yourself.

The one thing that I have learned about buying a car is that you're better off paying for the features you want up front, even if they cost a bit more. You'll never know if, or when, you'll be able to add them later...

It does not show as an add-on part on the MOPAR parts site. It does for the 2014.

I was hoping to get enough buzz here that someone at Chrysler would hear me and become interested. Guess I'm out here all alone.

I thought going this route would save me a couple of pennies. I had the remote start in my 2011 and truly miss it

Re: Help I want now want OEM remote start.

Update

Finally got an answer from Chrysler that Mopar part #82214097 (OEM Remote Start) will install in my vehicle. My dealer got the part in and I have an appointment to get it installed on Monday. Hoping this all goes smooth.

Update

The dealer has now installed the remote start.

The remote starts the car, I get in and the heater is blowing, but when I push the start button it goes off. Is that the way it's suppose to be?

Re: Help I want now want OEM remote start.

^^yep. depending on the outside temp and your previous A/C settings it will turn on the defrosters, etc and then default back to your normal heat settings when you get in.

as nice as the oem remote start is, its absolutely put to shame by the aftermarket cellular systems now.

Re: Help I now want OEM remote start.

Yup, I guess I must've turned the heater off before I got out and wondered why it was off when I remote started and got back it. I now notice that what ever setting you left it on when you got out is where it will be when you remote start and get back in.

I was really close to going aftermarket, but rather have the OEM so if anything goes wrong I can take it back to the dealer.
