Help noise when cold first drive of the day!

I have a 2011 jeep overland 5.7 hemi. Selectabe air ride.
I have had nothing but problems with this truck. 12k miles.

In the morning when I first leave the house for about 3 minutes you can hear a clicking sound almost like the drive shaft spinning. It changes with speed and is only heard once you let off of the gas. Especially noticable around 25 mph. This noise is also significantly worse when the outside temp is low.
Dealer is jerking me around I'm worried my drive shaft or diff is in bad shape. I can email a video of the problem to Anybody who is willing to help!!! Or I can send directly from my I phone. Please help!!! BELOW IS A LINK TO A VIDEO OF MY TRUCK AND THE NOISE ITS MAKING

Re: Help noise when cold first drive of the day!

I had a similar noise, around 30mph (have 26000 miles now), only when cold, and just found the answer I think, it is normal for mine. See if this is what you have. Thank you so much to jeepwk2 website.

http://www.wk2jeeps.com/wk2_tsb.htm

-------------
Electronic Stability Control (ESC) Clicking Noise
The driver may notice a clicking sound coming from the front or underneath the vehicle. This occurs when the vehicle is traveling above 35 mph and during the first portion of a drive cycle. The ESC system will run a calibration routine and if the driver lifts off of the gas pedal, the ESC system will stop the test because the drive may need to brake. The clicking sound is the valves in the ESC system. Once the calibration routine is successful, the noise will not return until the next ignition cycle. Once the ESC system has learned 50 times, the calibration will not be run during every ignition cycle. The sound may also become less noticeable over time. This sound is normal and no service needs to be done. -------------------

Re: Help noise when cold first drive of the day!

Thank you for the reply. Did you watch the video I posted? Did yours sound the same? Mine changes with speed I am hitting the brakes it still makes the noise just slows down as the truck slows down. Also it never does it once I have driven the truck. So if I go to work in the morning it will do it but on the way home it won't. Any more thoughts from anyone will be appreciated. Thanks

yep, sounds like your at the 22 or 23 seconds in your video. Mostly when I accelerate, only cold, only around 30 to 35mph, not every day, and less and less often since I have the car (for 14 months now).

Re: Help noise when cold first drive of the day!

I have this exact noise. Did anyone figure out what it is? I can't imagine it's the ESC as the noise gets faster/slower with the speed of the truck...I would think the ESC would be more of a constant tick. I've also had mine for almost two years and 42K miles and this is still as obvious as when I first got it.
Thanks!

That is not the ESC calibration noise. Mine has shudder on the first drive of the day, smooth otherwise.

I don't believe it's the esc either and the dealer has had the truck 5 times to try and fogure out the noise and has admitted that there is a problem. They have not mensioned the esc and I don't want to tell them cause they will say oh yeah that's it just to get me out the door.
