I guess I just don't know if I should just let my insurence pay the car off or drag this out with getting the manufacture involved

Yeah, and depending on the area, I'd probably pay a few bucks for initial consultation with a lawyer after asking the local Bar Association for someone with expertise in the area. I wouldn't involve them in discussions with anyone other than you, unless needed, as that would likely result in Chrysler, the dealer, and Insurance going into self-protection mode, but they could give you good advice and tell you when someone is shoveling fertilizer on you as this progresses. This is pretty expensive damage and you don't want to be paying for it.

My insurence and gap will cover what I owe. I'd rather wash my hands sooner than having this headache and being without a vehicle for however long it takes.

I wouldn't let the vehicle out of my possession until your insurance company looks at it, in case it's the dealers fault.

Geico totalled it but has to check with an adjuster that handles special claims since this may have been a known defect with the vehicle. Hopefully they just pay it off, tow it to the dump and they can deal with getting their money back. I think anything else will be a complete drawn out hassle.

As you are hoping, typically your insurance company pays you and they worry about possible recovery.

When you settle, or if you read your policy, you might see the phrase "right to subrogation". That means the insurance company has to right to pursue recovering from the at fault party. If your policy has a deductible and the insurance company recovers all or part of the damages, they will return that part of your deductible to you.

I wouldn't get involved with anyone but your insurance company, as long as they pay the claim in a timely manor.

Wow, quick thinking, I'm impressed.

But how the heck could you do that so fast?

I would make Jeep/Dealer cover everything. Your insurance should not have to cover this.

I was aware of the recall issue with the visor and after seeing the headliner and seat, I immediately knew that was what was causing the fire. I knew I had to kill any electrical current and the battery is the only way.

Im letting Geico handle it all. They can use their time and money to fight Chrysler over recouping their money after paying off the car. I don't want to deal with the hassle of doing it myself.
