I just bought a 2011 WK2 Laredo used. It has the push button start and the buttons on the door to allow them to be locked as long as the key is on me. The Start/Stop functionality works but the functionality for locking and unlocking the doors is not. The dealer had the Jeep yesterday to install the hitch and check on this problem. They told me that whoever traded in the jeep must have lost the remotes and purchased new ones without that function. They also said the correct remotes cost them $500.
I called another Jeep dealer and they told me it would only cost me $169 for the remotes plus programming but that there are not multiple remotes and that if mine is allowing me to start the car with the push button that it should also allow the doors to lock/unlock the doors.
Question:
If the remotes allows the car to start the doors should work also, correct?
Are there remotes that do no have this fuctionality?
Are the correct remotes really $500?
I think they are trying to BS me because there is something more wrong.
Thanks!
Eric
