Hi flow diesel pumps

Hi all,

I have a new Jeep Blackhawk and i would like to know if anyone uses hi flow pumps.
I tried once and it blew back on me, so is there a correct way to do it or can you only use ordinary pumps

Re: Hi flow diesel pumps

If at all possible don’t use them. There is no advantage, the time saved in the high flow rate is offset by the time waiting for the froth to settle.
There are some areas however where you do not have a choice, it is the only diesel bowser available. If you have one that lets the nozzle fully into the filler, then you need to be careful about having the trigger fully open. If the nozzle is too large, you can get funnels.
The flow rate will cause blow back because of a little flap that can close, see this old thread for a work around for that. - Fast Fill pumps
This lets the air escape as the fuel rushes in.

Re: Hi flow diesel pumps

Would be nice to use Hi Flow as currently at our local servo it $1.359 a litre.
Cheapest in town is $1.469. A good saving if you can get it.
Shame they only have a high flow bowser.
