Hid headlight not working $1000.00 to fix?

My left lowbeam blinks rapidly then goes out on my 2008 Grand Cherokee Limited. I took it to the Jeep dealer and they say the whole unit needs to be replaced for around $1000.00 is this possible?

$1000? LOL...dont let them rip you off bro! You can get headlights on ebay, car-part.com in OEM or replicas for $150-$300.
