Hold n Go

I need some technical advice on my new 2014 WK2 Summit 4x4 ecodiesel

On page 332 of the Owners Manual, it describes the following feature:

332 UNDERSTANDING YOUR INSTRUMENT PANEL

Hold n Go
When this feature is selected, the vehicle will automatically
hold its position when it comes to a stop. To make
your selection, touch the Hold n Go soft-key until a
check-mark appears next to setting, indicating that the
setting had been selected. Touch the back arrow soft-key
to return to the previous menu.

I have not been able to figure out how to do this. Can you give me some pointers?

the manual was printed before the specs were finalized. Holdn go didn't make it in the final specs I would guess

If you start from the beginning of the manual there is a disclaimer that says it may describe features that are not available.

I think the manuals are written based on a wish list. They don't let the writers actually see a real Jeep.

Scottina06....Is that like the Select Speed for the Diesel? Will it ever make it for the Diesel with the Off-Road II? Also for the Diesel vehicles with the ORA-II that don't have Select Speed will they be able to get it via a reflash of the computer...if it comes out?

Re: Hold n Go

it could be a flash thing depending if no componets are different or it affects the performance drivability of the said model...ie. diesel. Like the SRt doesn't get the ACC stop n go because it affected the driveability of the beast. May be the same here.

The fifth printing of the manual has it on page 347. You would think that by the fifth printing they should know what's in the vehicle.

" Hold n Go
When this feature is selected, the vehicle will automatically
hold its position when it comes to a stop To make
your selection, touch the Hold n Go soft-key, until a
check-mark appears next to setting, indicating that the
setting had been selected. Touch the back row soft-key to
return to the previous menu."

Re: Hold n Go

i am looking at page 332 of the sixth edition of the owners manual (no print date), copy attached. i took delivery of the car on december 7, 2013

also, member 'Texas Trailhawk' posted this response from a Jeep rep stating:

I am glad to read of your interest in Jeep.

I think you may have been reading the owner's manuals for two completely
different vehicle models.

The Hold 'n Go is not a feature offered on the 2014 Jeep Cherokee at
this time.

The The Hold 'n Go is, however, a feature offered on the 2014 Jeep Grand
Cherokee.
? Hold ?n Go?
When this feature is selected, the vehicle will automatically hold its
position when it comes to a stop and it allows you to remove your foot
from the brake pedal while stopped and the vehicle is in drive. It can
be activated or deactivated in the EVIC menu system.

There isn't any thing different (that I know of) except the switch on the select terrain has a different picture. Mine has the Hill Descent control (braking)...I want the Hill Ascent Control (throttle control). Select Speed is both. I believe the only ones that currently have it are the 5.7 Hemi's with the ORA-II. Thanks I appreciate it!

Re: Hold n Go

Hold n Go may be a future flash then...no idea. I will inquire some of my jeep contacts.

Same with the diesel options discussed above. I suspect its like I stated with the SRT.
