How to get service engine codes on WK2 (2011)

I have found instructions on how to get the code for why the MIL is on for up to a 2010. I have a 2011 and wanted to try and research the code before taking it to the dealership. Anybody know how? I have a push button start.

Haley

Unfortunately 2011+ do not allow you to pull the codes without a scanner.

You can go to AutoZone, who will pull the codes for free, or pick up a cheap OBD scanner that will pull the major codes and allow you to reset the CEL for around $50.

With Android I recommend a bluetooth dongle and Torque. About $25 all told.
