They replaced the blower and it seems to be slightly more quiet. I could live with it like this, but would like to know from you if your Blower is completely silent at level 2 since the replacement? Should I make them replace a second time if it is still slightly audible?
Thx for any input...

If your not satisfied, have them change it. The dealers should look into putting a insulated panel under dash. Would help with noise. I have one in my Dodge Caliber.

Re: HVAC Fan Noise

I bought a 2011 JGC Limited as it was traded in at 36K miles. I noticed a few weeks later that the HVAC blower made slight noises when running. It was gone when system was shut off. I purchased a service contract with the used Jeep, which came in handy as the HVAC blower needed to be completely replaced. $100 deductible. Last February had the Jeep in for an unrelated service of 4WD issue. Reading the jeeps codes showed a gearing issue in the A/C as well. Since I was having the sensor on 4WD system repaired they fixed the gearing and recharged A/C. I think the HVAC blower issue is fairly common.

Same issue here on 2014 Laredo. I'll be taking it in to the dealer shortly but it's nice to see we have a common denominator here.

Just letting you know this happened in my 12' WK2 then it went away by itself

Re: HVAC Fan Noise

Any thoughts on it being relate to sub freezing temperatures? I have noticed the fan sound clears up after the car is warm, but I'm not just going to be happy with that. The Jeep is for use in the tundra of Upstate NY. The other odd noise is related to the DVDS checking to see if something is in the drive, but fairly random, and doesn't happen a lot. I wish I could leave my WK2 at the dealership while I'm out of town, but we don't have a great relationship as I purchased it used from a non Jeep dealer.

Re: HVAC Fan Noise

Thanks, but this def. isn't a glove box noise. I brought it to the dealer a couple of weeks ago and voila, it didn't happen then. Happened four days after I got it back from them though. Now the driver seat is creaking like crazy.

Re: HVAC Fan Noise

This is a very common issue through-out many model years WK'2s. It can usually be traced to a bad blower motor bearing.

Re: HVAC Fan Noise

Totally correct. I've had mine replaced once and again for the second time as well. It sounds just like the electric mower in my hot tub when the bearings inadvertently get moisture in and the bearings fail. I wish they would correct this flaw as it seems very sloppy this far out to have replacement units that aren't sealed properly.

Has anyone found a good aftermarket blower? My 2011 JGC Overland has the blower whine mentioned on this thread. I'm about to replace it on my own and out of pocket (mine is out of warranty)

I just want to do this ONCE so I'm looking for a more reliable part than the OEM version that people are having to replace every 10-30k miles...

Any suggestions?

Has anyone used an aftermarket blower successfully???

Re: HVAC Fan Noise

I wish I had a better answer, but since mine still had service contract, I just paid the $100 deductible but I had it done at a different dealership. My FIL gets parts for cost +10%, if it happens again next year. It is a bearing thing and very annoying. It would be great if it could be one and done but extreme weather can be hard on bearings and grease. Best of luck trying to find one. I'm certain there are some out there. Jeep, like VW and Honda have a pretty decent supply of part makers making aftermarket items, but whether or not you can find one, remains to be seen. Check online parts places and compare prices. I wouldn't buy the Jeep brand again. Parts wise that is.
