HVAC Intake Issue/Engine Bay Rattle
I wasn't able to locate another post on this topic, but I wanted to let people know about a strange issue I discovered on my 2014 GC Overland Diesel after my recent service in case anyone had a similar problem. After getting my 10K service, along with the outstanding recalls and a few other items addressed, I started hearing a rattle coming from the engine bay. I poked around under the hood, and notice that I could see my cabin air filter through the engine compartment which obviously isn't good. Turns out the HVAC intake was completely disconnected from the firewall and was just rattling around in the engine bay. The good news is that the intake area is separated from the actual engine compartment itself, but this allowed larger debris, and more importantly water to spill directly onto the cabin air filter. I immediately drove the car back to the dealer and while they fixed it right away, they swore up and down that they didn't touch that part and it must have been delivered from the factory that way, without a screw, and just finally came loose. I'm skeptical, but either way the problem was solved before any damage was done.
