Re: I am Out of Here

Oh and again why should one not expect FCA To back there product? It is a simple question. And what did Porsche ever do to you? As for me "keep expecting" I have no choice I hope like all hell they get it to work. I cannot afford another payment while they dick around with this one.

VWTG,
What Porsche/VW AG did to me was sell me a diesel that was expressly designed to break the emissions law. Then once caught they stonewalled for 2 years, until a combination of class action law suits, FTC suits, EPA suits, and states attorney generals forced them to come to the table. So while you seem to think Porsche is on the up and up, my experience over the last 2 years with them has been the exact opposite.

That said, I am not sure what you are looking for on this forum. A month ago I suggested that due to your unhappiness that perhaps you should get a lawyer and pursue a lemon law recourse. You said you did not want to do that, but continue to complain that your needs are not being addressed. As it is obvious that you are not getting what you want from FCA, why prolong the pain? (BTW, most lemon law lawyers get paid via the automaker, not by you).

Ford F150 platinum - $52,150 starting price
Ford Explorer platinum - $53,235 starting price
GMC Acadia Denali - $48,815 starting price
Hyundai Equus - $61,500 starting price
Toyota Sequoia - $44,950 starting price
Toyota Land Cruiser - $83,825 starting price

So again, not trying to lessen how much money these are, but they are pretty squarely in the pricing mix for ford/chevy/toyota/hyundai offerings.
Yeah agree with you on that 50k is not some elite special suv these days, it's nicely equipped but many non premium manufactures got them. This jeep is probably the poorest vehicle I have ever bought concerning initial quality, think it went back 18 times the first two years for mostly minor, but it's also one of my favorite if not my favorite overall once the new car bugs were worked out so I guess that says something. But now on the other hand a loaded 2017 Summit sticker price very near 70k is pushing it a bit for a mid sized non SRT suv Chrysler product. They are beginning to erase the whole idea of Grand Cherokees giving you a lot for the money.

I didn't know about your history of problems with your JGC. I am sure it sucks, but then its quite possible your's was a lemon. You should have used your lemon laws to get the backing you were expecting from FCA.

Most of the people here are happy with their JGC. Even to some extent with FCA, including people who got their lemon replaced by chasing FCA for months.

These things can happen to anyone. My cousin's 14 X5 was a lemon, got a replacement 15 X5 and even that has a lots of problems and he is sick of it. Life happens.

I have though about it and since I know jeep owns the Jeepcares name on this site and you seem willing to help.

Interesting, so you want personal contact information of Chrysler employees and you accuse me of being a stalker for responding to you on a public forum

Re: I am Out of Here

It was Humor. I responded to you saying you TOLD me a month ago to get an attorney
Lighten up. Your defending FCA like you have some kinda stake in them. I know we all kinda do with the bail out and all. .
Do you work for FCA? I know jeepcares on this forum is part of FCA it would not surprise me if they did not have others on here. Anyway I am happy your experience is awesome and that like you said the majority is also? However the true mark is how they attend to problems and since it seems you have not had one, let me tell you they suck. No No they really do.

No but Porsche gave you a $500 credit to spend on service, parts, or accessories while you waited. Then they bumped your warranty again while you waited. Plus your vehicle still works!!! You did't have to take your diesel in for a cat replacement did you or def tank replacement?? NO. They just cheated the EPA just like the people here are doing with the Green Mountain tune.
I don't care if it is a 2 cent washer or a million dollar car. Just stand behind your product!!!

VMTG:

I love to read forums and in particular the Jeep ones. While I feel for your situation I just can not identify at all. Over the past 20 years I have had 7 jeep vehicles. Out of the 7 I had two that had issues from the start and I complained to my dealer and in both cases the vehicles were bought back (MSRP to MSRP) with very little hassle to be honest. The replacement vehicles as well as the other 5 Jeeps have been super vehicles that have out performed my expectations. My wife has a 2014 GC with 36,000 miles and it has never been back to the dealer for anything but a few software updates. I have a 2014 Cherokee TH with 28,000 and the vehicle has never been back to the dealer for anything but the updates either. I do all of my own service faithfully. I have zero issues with Jeep, or my dealer for they have treated me very well and I will therefore stick with the brand. I wish you the best with your Porsche. You might want to check your MPG by hand next time and not count on the EVIC for we know how honest VW is when it comes to abiding by the law. Thanks, Ron G.

Re: I am Out of Here

Watch me get myself in trouble here. I work in the automation industry and have engineered some product on machinery that has been placed in various manufacturing plants around the world. Including automotive plants We took a complete loss on the product line 2014/2015 when we discovered the product did not specifically meet a specification that we had published and send technicians out to replace these items or paid various plants to have their maintainence/ engineering replace these products. The fault was minor and would not have caused any loss of production or danger, but we did this because we value the business and wanted to back the product. No one sued, got a lawyer or made demands and actually some said leave it be they work flawlessly and we will never experience that high an ambient temp. We still provide the new product to have on hand should there be any unfor seen issue.

I am on this forum because I purchased a JGC and seen " Alludc" work in customizing his and though man that is awesome. So I have sent a few request to him and also helped a few others out with some modifications and how to, that I have extensively researched and planned to do. But I started to have problems and looked around on Google and it kept hitting on this site. So I obviously check it out. I wish the OP luck with his Porsche purchase because I can relate to the nightmare it has been trying to get someone to help and having to constantly deal with the ignorance of the ECS Group. I do not yell I do not scream. I have no one responsible to yell and scream at and it is not my style. I remain patient but everyone has a breaking point and when your car is in service waitting for someone your not allow to know or talk to make a repair decision and the ECS group sends you an email closing the case they opened without your request to even open a case, saying that they are happy and it is fixed, then you call and respond saying no it is still there and they ignore you it becomes frustrating.

So I get it, go get a lawyer and Sue them it is the American way? But why not just be polite and responsive. I understand I got one of those vechicles. I get it it happens I pulled the short straw. But man you do not have to be Porsche to be polite and you certainly do not have to be Mercedes to be nice. Customer satisfaction is a major issue with FCA they talk about it at every major meeting it is topic #1.
I have planned to just flip into another JGC at first available. But lucky me the repairs are tied to the VIN and I have tried with other FCA dealers and they do not want it. Straight up told me " we will not take your JGC on trade". I cannot afford to park it and pay the bill while driving another vehicle.
The acceptance of mediocracy and excusing it because some one else sucks is just not right in my book. I believe in responsibility.
I only post my experience on treads that specifically talk about problems. I am not running around jumping in treads bashing FCA. I respond to this because early on one of the members asked what my problems where. So yes I will go grab a lawyer and Sue and wait and miss business trips and time with my wife and kids because FCA well they got their ass covered and are in no rush to resolve anything. Can you imagine if I had served my country with that attitude?
