Re: I am Out of Here

Which stories specifically and do you mean in the same volume? Either way FCA is not a reputable company. They do not back thier product. If someone else is the same does it make it any better?
Please provide the link to the same stories. Something tells me Porsche is more attentive. Maybe the customer satisfaction surveys.

It is obvious you have strong opinions about FCA, so I won't even touch that. However, if you are thinking that Porsche is better you are sadly mistaken. Porsche is fully owned by Volkswagen AG and is right in the middle of the biggest scandal in automotive history where they purposely falsified emissions data across millions of cars (including Porsche and Audi), got caught and stalled for nearly 2 years. Now, nearly 8 months after the US government had to force them to stop sales on said cars they are finally going to have to buy back all of the cars (forced by the government and impending class action lawsuits). To the tune of 10 billion just in the US alone. That leaves about 10 million cars in Europe that can't be fixed and that Porsche/Volswagen/Audi has so far refused to make good on.

In my opinion a car company that knowing sells a defective product for over a decade, and then continues selling the same product even after they are caught is not reputable. The fact that there are many of us still waiting for any kind of fix shows that they are not attentive, and don't seem to want to back their product unless the government forces them.

BTW: If you need any documentation, just google "dieselgate"

Re: I am Out of Here

Crombenevolent I agree they are both Bad. Now when is FCA gonna fix the Chrysler Cares people and publish acess to the regional sales/ service managers or a means to resolving product warranty issues beyond the dealership and Chrysler Cares?

I do not think it is so much "strong opinions" as it is strong experience with this particular situation. I have had issues with my purchase and have had to deal with Chrysler Cares.
I think this is the issue. Not who is worse.

Re: I am Out of Here

Cayenne is still running great did a 4 hour road trip to Dallas a few weeks ago. Got 21 MPG running 90 most of the way. No issues so far. I do believe there is a current recall for a clip by the brake pedal but I have not received anything on that yet.
As to Chrysler Cares what a joke they are. I had to start recording my phone calls with them because of all the broken promises. The only three people that were pleasant in this ordeal was the district manager for Chrysler (he allowed the buy back but was out of the picture after that and I mean gone), Service manager (not at the beginning because he would not tell us what was wrong with our jeep or return calls) but he finally got a hold of the district manger, and the guy from ISG that picked up our POS 2014 Summit (he had no dog in this fight. He was just signing forms and taking our keys). The sales person, the dealership GM, the 3 people at Chrysler cares, and the 2 people at ISG all SUCKED!!! They would tell you half truths, not call or email back, wanted what was best for them, said they did something when they did not, and the list goes on and on. Next time you call Chrysler cares see if you can talk with a manager/supervisor. My Chrysler care rep would call my home number knowing he would get to leave a message. I asked everyone I could talk with about removing that number from their system. Everyone always said they did. I would call him back maybe 5 minutes later and it would be 3-4 days for a return call back to my home number. I called and ask to speak with his manager/supervisor since he was busy or out and you would have thought I was asking to talk with Big Foot. Uh, well, Uh, well I am not in that department. Well how about your supervisor? Uh, well, Uh they won't be able to help you. I bet they might know other supervisors... Uh, well....
All I will say is I am on a few other car forums and this Jeep board post more issues with their product then any of the others. More of the other are talking about making more HP, what size tires fit, what exhuast, and ect. This one is crazy with issues. Yes I know most people don't come out and say my Jeep is running great today but lots of people are having the same issues. Then you read my 6 day old Jeep is in the shop and they don't know how to fix it..
Again, I wish you all the best of luck. I hope you DO NOT have to go through what I went through.

Re: I am Out of Here

Thanks for checking in f12. Glad your new ride is treating you right. I had about the same experience with FCA and ISG. It's amazing how isolated all the higher ups are at FCA, it's maddening. I was really fortunate enough to have found a great Jeep, Ram, Chyrsler Dealer. They were such great allies with me getting through my buy back I actually bought a new Ram from them as well. I was ready to write FCA vehicles off forever it it hadn't been for them.

Re: I am Out of Here

Function12 really happy your in a good spot with an awesome looking car. I AM JEALOUS to be honest want to be there with you. Good luck and I sincerely hope they treat you well. I am confident they will.
I have given up. I need out of the FCA nonsense. I like the JGC I like the brand. However I have not the time and my patience have worn thin. I have a 2015 JGC Altitude put this is to much.
1. 2 weeks in rear window became dislodged and looked to be failing out.
Dealer ship repaired after determining it was a warranty issue and proving to FCA I did not randomly do this! Really FCA really
2 2 Months in Check engine light would come on and off randomly. Dealership visit said no codes and it did not happen as requires for them.
3. All seemed fine I had moved on and the JGC had no issues, the JGC was service by dealership and all was good.
4. Radio started to randomly black out, again dealership needed to have it happen for them no codes.
5. Radio blacked out and I immediately took it into dealership. They seen it and replaced first of 3 "media hubs" to come
6. Radio Continues to black out requiring multiple visits and "hub" replacements. Problem still exists to this day.
7 this is the big one. I ended up writting into Jeep/ Chrysler concerning this problem and here is where my less then friendly relationship with Chrysler Cares begin.
The engine developed an extremely loud tapping sound. Dealership replaced "tappets"
8, sound came back. Dealership replaced "rockers"
9. Sound came back dealership replaced intake and exhuast camshafts, camshafts and heads.
10 while in for routine maintenance was told there we an issue with chain case Cover leaking.
Dealership replaced cover and gasket.
11. Radio still blacks out randomly dealership continues to replace various parts from radio to hub assembly.
12 engine light for evac system hoses reconnect various parts replaced. .

The issue is Chrysler Cares seems to think these are all acceptable problems and refer to them as "my little issues" I have been assigned to some enhanced customer service group but not been permitted any direct contact. All the while the JGC has proven to be one issue after another. I need a dependable car. I need a company that is more understanding and much more concerned with there product then referring to it as "my little issue" (s). I was told Chrysler no longer has regional service or sales reps by Chrysler Cares (Tara extension 40509). I have attempted to trade the vehicle at 2 diffrent dealerships but apparently all the issues are now tied to the VIN and the offers are just to low. Places me entirely to upside down to take the hit.
So ultimately I do no care if one manufacturer or dealer is better then the other all I know is FCA really really sucks. I want out. I did not purchase the JGC to make new close friends at the dealer service department or have to make trips for service a monthly event in my life. I also get it I was unlucky got a bad one So FCA let's fix that. But no we will wait till out of warranty and wash our hands of it. What next seriously what next.
I have a strong experience not an opinion but rather real life fact.
The higher ups are not blind to it. These tactics are policy they set.
If I wanted another head ache I get another wife. (just sarcastic humor as my wife is awesome)

Re: I am Out of Here

VWTG, I understand where you are coming from. Who has the time to deal with these little issues. You go to the dealer. Wait your turn to talk with the service adviser. Then you wait to see if you get a loaner/rental. You give them your credit card info and insurance. They charge you the tax for the rental. You have to make sure you put the right amount of gas back in it before you return it. You wait for the service adviser to call you and tell you when and if it is fixed. Rinse and repeat over and over again.
As I have said before, if you get to go through the buy back process. Ask for your money back and move on.

Re: I am Out of Here

Nor have I been charged for rental tax. However I think the intention was to show the enormous inconvenience that multiple trips to a service department are. I have never had first day rental under jeep warranty so for me it is more a situation of making appointment going waitting for them to check out the car and having Chrysler approve the repair. This typically take a few hours minimum. It is funny to me that everytime I go in now I am assigned a case# and receive a call from Chrysler Cares people informing me how they are going to "Advocate" for me. Shit I be happy if they just answered an email or the phone when I send and call. I believe in starting small we can work up to the big stuff. Like fixing the junker they built.

Re: I am Out of Here

Wait I have just noticed a new one.
11. Car with 26k miles on it says it has been 40663 mile since last oil change. Minor issue or part of a bigger problem? Either way not right. I know my math. One might say I am really good at it and that just makes no sence.
