Luxury BMW/MERC dealers seem to have bigger screen TVs in the waiting room, and typically a much better selections of pastries.

My Acura dealer has a very nice waiting area with a big screen tv, wifi, good coffee and snacks and a refrigerator with water and juice. It doesn't get used much, because except for something very minor they almost always insist on you taking a loaner. In the winter they have them warmed up and waiting right outside the door. I told the service writer once that they just wanted to keep me away from the coffee. She walked me out to the loaner after finishing the paperwork. With a big smile on her face she pointed to the console and said there's your coffee. Now that is customer service!

I went in for an oil change around the holidays. They gave me a little gift kit with Acura car wash soap, glass cleaner, leather conditioner and a few other things.

They also have a Honda Dealership at the other end of the property. My neighbors who have Hondas say that they will give them a loaner, but they have to request it.

My last Jeep, '07 Liberty, was never in except for oil changes. They had a small screen tv, the coffee was kept fresh, but the paper cups were small. I always brought my large, Thermos brand cup that said Chevy Trucks across it. I told them if they gave me one that said Jeep, I would use it. They never did.

Did I pay up front for the exceptional service at Acura? Sure did! If they sold Jeeps, I'd be paying for it again.

Got the Jeep back. So far, so good. Fog lights are working, no TPMS to report so far.

My faith has been restored somewhat, but it is shaky. I still stand by that this will be my last Chrysler. Sorry if that offends but that is how I feel. Customer loyalty is a lot easier to keep than to win back in my opinion.

Good to hear it got fixed.

If, by the time you are ready to replace this vehicle, you are still uncomfortable with the Jeep/Chrysler brand, you do need to move on to another brand. Even if they made the 'perfect' vehicle, there would always be a bad feeling about it as you drove down the road.

Good luck!

Glad it is all set. Be sure to respond to the email survey Chrysler will send to you 3 days after your service. You can write the low points in the box. Also you can embarrass the dealer by mentionning their name in this thread.

Glad things appeared to have been worked out....however, I must say that in my experience of owning a lot of different brands ( Cadillac, BMW, Mercedes, Lexus, Jeep, etc) I don't recalled any of the service departments being , what I would call, totally competent.

Re: I love the WK2 but it will be my last Jeep/Chrysler I ever own

Wow...its like you read my mind! I too hit a deer and decided to use a Jeep delaer to fix my car instead of an independent shop: Here is my story:

- Bring car in for estimate. Wearing my work uniform. Girl behind desk on phone and doesnt look up at me. Body shop guy at his desk and does the same. 3-4 minutes go by, as she hangs up phone another customer comes in and she starts talking to him and ignores me. Having good manners I wait until another 2-3 minutes and say "excuse me, I need an estimate". I tell the estimator how rude that was...
- Estimate has parts without the ACC/FCW camera parts listed compared to other quotes. Seems silly the dealer couldnt get that right
-Decide to go with them to ensure ACC/FCW camera and reprogramming is done right. Told 4 days.
- 6 days later I CALL the dealer to see whats up; told that they needed to reorder some parts and will be ready Wednesday.
- Wednesday comes and goes, I call Thursday and said ready tomorrow.
-Friday comes and goes and says next week.
- Leave 3 messags for body shop manager to ream him a new one; he calls me 36 hours later.
- I tell him my list of items I want him to inspect before I come back for it and he finds some minor issues

I ran out of time to pick up the car and now I dont have it for the 4" of snow we got last night. when I pick up my car Monday that thing better be better than new. I will let you know the dealer name if they didnt fudge it up and all works well. But as the original poster said, very dissapointing from a dealer. I have a service based business and my customer ARE NEVER left in the dark like these guys and I service 2-3000 customers a year!

Re: I love the WK2 but it will be my last Jeep/Chrysler I ever own

So I get my Jeep back after the story above and the tire pressure on the tire I hit the deer with was 5 pounds less than all the other tires; it was quite obvious that they did not dismount and remount per the estimate and common sense.

BAKER JEEP IN PRINCETON NJ SUCKS! STAY AWAY!!

I wouldn't take a Yugo there to get fixed. Never again
