I think it only covers to 2013. I don't think there is one out yet for the 8spd for the 14s. I could be wrong just thought I remembered reading that somewhere

Yeah. That's what I meant
There's no TSB for 2014 but we should ask the dealers at each visit so they will realize its an issue.
I still don't know if I should do the battery trick on my car... No rough transmission , no bumps from 1 to 2 or 2 to 3 ...or the other way around .
The only annoying thing is that while on Eco I find myself in the 5th or 6th gear starting with 24mph . Kinda silly but maybe it's just the eco mode .
If I put it in sport the transmission is awesome .
Mine only came with 5 miles so unless Schumacher drove it I don't how it could learn a bad transmission pattern in only 5 miles .

It might have an initial programmed base shift sequence to start with before it learns your driving style. Mine came with five or six miles on it as well and I also have the rough downshifts, although it does seem better now than when I first drove it. 1200 miles on it now.

Brought my 2014 GC into the dealership today to install my tow hitch, lo-jack and flash my system for the use of my directionals. I also brought up this issue of rough shifting and they told me they have 3 new flashes to update my vehicle. Unsure at this time if 1 of them addresses this issue. Will keep you posted.

No flash for transmission issues, but there are 2 flashes out there for radio and steering column

Re: I Think I Fixed My Rough Shifting 8sp Transmission

Tried both the battery disconnect and fuse methods yesterday with no luck. Continues to shift 1,2,3,4 before hitting 20MPH (ECO on or off). Very frustrating with a new vehicle.
Has anyone had luck with the dealer fixing this problem?

Re: I Think I Fixed My Rough Shifting 8sp Transmission

Sometimes, my rough shifting from 3 to 2 to 1 returns, but the battery cable reset has fixed it 99% of the time and the Eco mode slowness (shifting to 4th by 20 mph) has been fixed as well. I did notice that a few times the Eco mode has quick shifted so I think the computer might be learning again (in ways I don't like). I don't baby the Jeep so I don't know why it would learn to short shift again. Hmm.

Re: I Think I Fixed My Rough Shifting 8sp Transmission

Wow, I tried this this morning and it is a HUGE difference in the shifting!! It really is like butter now! As others have mentioned, no settings were lost. Thank you so much for the tip! I had a short drive today, but will keep everyone posted if the roughness returns.

I hope it works for you...but for me, it's smooth like butter for a day or so until it rears its ugly head again...

That sucks...

Is that just in "ECO" mode...or both performance and ECO?

After performing the battery re-set on my 2014 V6, I've been pretty much in "ECO" mode 99.9% of the time...with the A/C on occasionally, and the shifting just seems to keep getting smoother.

In addition, a day or so after I did the re-set, I floored it a couple times (WOT) while on the highway...as well as from a couple of red lights...all in "ECO" mode. I did this to "help" with the re-learning of the computer.
