Question, anyone on this forum had the first Tranny update done and also got the latest update listed above. I still experience rough shifting after the first update. Getting tired of the BS..

Let me know if I should be getting the updated version even if I have the earlier release applied. Dealer would not apply it even after I showed them a printed copy indicating THIS BULLETIN SUPERSEDES SERVICE BULLETIN 21-007-13, DATED AUGUST 03, 2013, WHICH SHOULD BE REMOVED FROM YOUR FILES. THIS IS A COMPLETE REVISION AND NO ASTERISKS HAVE BEEN USED TO HIGHLIGHT REVISIONS

Also, any suggestion on how to get the dealer to apply the fix after they refuse too..

Thanks..
For some reason this happens to me as well. I even called today about this 2nd flash and i was told my vehicle didnt apply. (Had the same go around with the first tranny flash on 8/6). Had to call Chrysler and get them to help (but it took me 15min to get them to agree that my vehicle is affected). Again, not sure y this happens to me either. Glad I'm not the only 1

Re: I Think I Fixed My Rough Shifting 8sp Transmission

I just had the RRT 13-066 TCM update performed on my 2014 V6 Limited 4x4 (9/18), and so far the shifting does seemed improved. FYI...I took delivery of my GC 4/22.

The downshifts into 2nd and 1st seem much smoother now (I'd say a 75% improvement...not 100%), and there's way less shifting delay when hitting the gas hard. The tranny still upshifts quickly under normal driving conditions in ECO mode, so I feel that gas mileage should not be affected much...if at all.

It's been only one day since receiving this update, and I've read to give it some time before passing final judgment, but so far I believe it was worth getting this update.

Hi 1stJeep, thanks for your response, one question, after getting the second tranny update, did you see much difference in the down shifting compare to the first update.. Let me know. Thanks again..

No problem. I'm going Monday for the flash (and other items) When I called and set the appt up, i got the same run around as last time about not being included in the flash.

Re: I Think I Fixed My Rough Shifting 8sp Transmission

Just got my Jeep back from getting the the rear diff. replaced. I never had a this clucking problem before the new diff but I do now, when it shifts into first coming to a stop. I have all the trans updates installed. Could this problem be in the rear diff?

You mean right before you come to a stop it has a violent downshift that bangs it into first and almost surges the car forward? If so, that's what mine does. So it's not your differential, it's the unpaid summer interns who write the software for Chrysler. Just kidding, the interns could do better haha

It's not that bad more like a shutter, yours is worse. But what I am saying is that my car didn't do this at all before the repair and I had the software update 2 days after it came out to try and make eco mode usable (it didn't). I am going to give a week or so to see if it gets better or worse before I take it in again.

A 2 day window isn't much to judge it by. My 2-1 is much cleaner when warm. Could be that you're just noticing it more now.

No, I had the software update over a month ago, 2 days after it came out. I just had the diff changed on Wednesday. So over a month with the new software and 3000 miles on problems till they changed the diff..

There's another one that came out on last week. And after the first update my didn't start to lurch for a few weeks. It always seems the adaptives make things worse, not better.

I will call and find out if they flashed it when it was in there they did have it a week so they could have done anything. I still think its funny that this is not happening to everyone. I guess time will tell.

They might have done the new RRT to your car, that is why you're now feeling it. From complaining about this bitterly I was told that there are plenty of complaints. Keep in mind, some people are more sensitive to the lurching and clunking then others-theres a large population of people who are subscribers to the "turn the radio up and you won't notice those weird noises" club.
