I haven't noticed any issues with the HVAC. I keep it at 70 degrees, no problems. But then again I haven't had the A/C on yet.

Also, the climet system doesn't shut off when opening the driver's door after a remote start like my Limited did before the TSB was done.

Re: I Think I Fixed My Rough Shifting 8sp Transmission

Could we get some updates from the members with transmission issues after they performed the battery terminal removal trick to reset the adaptives? How are your jeeps performing now with respect to performing the method that the original thead member posted? Anyone still having the same rough harsh up/downshifting? Thanks in advance.

Re: I Think I Fixed My Rough Shifting 8sp Transmission

I removed the negative terminal and did the brake thing yesterday. I drove it yesterday and today with no fix. It's still downshifting hard from 3-2 and 2-1. I'm still frustrated.

Re: I Think I Fixed My Rough Shifting 8sp Transmission

Just a heads up for everyone....replaced my air filter today (13k miles) with a Fram ExtraGuard and my 2014 V6 shifts like butter now. No more popping on the 2-1 shift and much smoother downshifts. The difference in performance is literally night and day. I have all the flash updates too so I'm all good there. I've replaced air filters and kept up with maintenance religiously on my previous vehicles but have never seen such an improvement in performance and smooth driving as I have by replacing the cheap stock air filter in this thing. Anybody who is still having issues after the flash updates should definitely give this a try.

That's hard to believe that there could be such a dramatic difference in transmission performance simply by replacing the OEM air filter. Unless the factory filter supplier shipped an extemely defective batch to jnap, I don't see how the two could be related.

I'm at 5000k miles. I really want to see if this trick will work. Would replacing an air filter so early hurt the engine or not be safe to do?
Also I can only find a FRAM air filter at my autozone and not the extra guard one. Would the regular one work? Or should I get a Purolator brand? Thanks

My May 2013 build has about 12K miles so I'll wait to 15K to change the air filter, but definitely will give this a shot.

Otherwise, I've had all 3 flashes and initially C was great but then it went back to its old ways with harsh shifting and clunking in stop and go traffic. I decided to keep eco OFF for a few hundred miles and it seemed to be working in both eco OFF and eco ON modes...everything is smoothing out. It's either the learning in eco OFF or just the normal learning now that I'm over 10,000 miles.

edit: PS - Never did the battery pull.

Re: I Think I Fixed My Rough Shifting 8sp Transmission

I didn't expect such a difference from a new air filter either...especially a standard, non-performance product. However, I can assure you that my engine is running much smoother, a drastic spike in acceleration and smoother shifting. The old filter was a little dirty but not terrible. Just feels like the Jeep can finally breathe. I can only assume that the smoother running engine has an effect on the synchronization with the shift points. I can honestly say it's the best $20 i've spent on this thing yet.

What about MPGs. Did you notice an improvement at all?

Glad to see a guy who has the same experience with me. In my case, I use Mopar OEM filter. (25$ from internet) But, it feels much smoother than before. But I cannot say for sure this is really air-filter related. My tranny was clunky with cold start and was fine with warm-up. The smoother shift could/might be from an increased temperature as spring came. I am not sure..... but worth to try it. I used to change the air filter every once a year.

I've been battling dealerships and Chrysler for exactly 1 year on my poorly shifting v6limited. After escalating the case, and recreating the shift clunk to a tech, they finally opted to replace the entire transmission. So far after 3 days of driving I can say its a totally different car...I often can't even tell when it goes from 1st - 2nd. I highly recommend pushing Chrysler to escalate ur case and see if they can't do the same
