GCLimited, I wanted to thank you for an awesome solution. Turned my shifiting from a clunk clunk to butter. Even the ECO mode works far better, doesn't seem like it tries to go to 5th at 20MPH anymore. Should be a dealer delivery step for how easy it is. Now, if that would have fixed my 'no AC with remote start' issue, even better.

No problem...glad the reset worked for you.

Nothing more aggravating than spending $40,000+ for a new vehicle which shifts like crap.

Re: I Think I Fixed My Rough Shifting 8sp Transmission

I will be honest, I had my doubts. My 2014 overland was downshifting a little rough. I tried this today. It really did make a difference. The truck is noticeably smoother.

Do not think twice to do this to your vehicle. It takes little to no effort and you have nothing to lose.

They already did, they named an entire trim level after the guy.

Good one!

If it ever stops raining up my way, I'll try the A/C test in regards to how it might affect transmission shifts. I had the defroster on the other day for about 30 minutes ("ECO" mode and in rt. 93 rush hour traffic), and other than the usual parasitic drop in engine power one feels when the A/C compressor cycles on, I didn't notice any real rough shifting.

C60 ? I have a 2014 Summit and it is F60 - interesting you have a different layout than what I have

Re: I Think I Fixed My Rough Shifting 8sp Transmission

I pulled the F60 for about an hour, drove to work and it did seem to shift a bit smoother. Nice fix !

Re: I Think I Fixed My Rough Shifting 8sp Transmission

Ok I was skeptical but I'll be darned it drives like a completely different vehicle. I pulled fuse F60 which was labelled TCM on the fuse panel and let the vehicle sit for 15 minutes. It drives much better in Eco, non-Eco mode, as well as sport. It actually held 2nd gear in Eco mode to nearly 40 mph under moderate acceleration. We'll see if it stays like this but I'm impressed. FYI I have 1285 miles on the odometer.
