He was quick to mention that there's been "over 30" cases of issues similar to mine recently (I don't live in a large market), we took a quick test drive and he confirmed the issue.

Apparently, Chrysler is aware of the issue and is working on a software update to fix it. He had no idea of the timing of the next software release, but suggested I call back in 1 month. He mentioned that the more calls or complaints Chrysler receives about this issue, the faster it will likely get resolved.

Does anyone have a good contact number to Chrysler for this?

Besides the transmission issue, I love my Jeep, I think we need to join forces and apply pressure to Chrysler that they cannot let this issue continue, especially for a vehicle that cost $40K+.
I wonder if this is a software related issue because some people on this forum have had their complete transmission replaced which seems to have fixed ( maybe 50/50?) the issue and some have had their control valve body replaced and its a 50/50 fix with that as well. I know I got my control valve body replaced and it did NOT fix my harsh shifting.
It seems to me that there is a major problem with some of the transmissions internally rather than software related.

I could be wrong. If anyone has more information that would be great.

Along with the N58 recall, I also just had Rev C for the transmission software update done today. Definitely better. Tried making the transmission slam into 2nd from 1st during light throttle and letting off the gas, and couldn't. Also before Rev C, the RPM's would spike way up during moderate throttle while in 7th-8th gear (like it's jumping from 8th to 2nd gear). Now, it jumps to 4th. Just seems as though all the shift points are more under control. I'll give a final verdict after a couple of weeks. I'd like to test manual mode/paddle shifters and sport mode.

Re: If your 8spd trans is rough, put your hand up

is this an issue people have been having since they first bought their Jeep? or something that shows up down the road? I have a 3/10/2014 build and am almost at 1,000 miles, so far mine is smooth

Re: If your 8spd trans is rough, put your hand up

Is this the "Teach your 2014 JGC transmission how to shift" guide?

http://www.wk2jeeps.com/tsb/tsb_wk2_2101214.pdf

I get what is going on in the bulletin but what dealership is going to invest in time and resources to faithfully perform this analysis? To do all of this properly you would need at least two people in the vehicle and take it out to a flat long stretch of road without any traffic or stops.

Re: If your 8spd trans is rough, put your hand up

My transmission was fine until around 2,500 miles, it now has 3,500 miles. I can now replicate the transmission issue shifting from 2nd to first under light brake pressure coming to a stop.

As I've said earlier, Chrysler apparently knows about these issues and reading through forums such as this, it's apparent a number of people are plagued with transmission issues. We need to apply as much pressure on Chrysler to fix this ASAP, does anyone have any experience or knowledge of the best way for people to file a complaint with them and make sure Chrysler is aware of the level of frustration with their customers?

Mine is the same way, trans was ok up until about 2500. I have not received any of the updates yet. It's really bad when I first start out driving, when the trans is cold. Going from first to second almost feels like the trans is stuck then shifts with a clunk. Also, when coming to a stop feels like I slammed on the brakes about 10' before I actually stop. I have to schedule an oil change and have the forward collision sensor software updated, I will have them look at the trans then.

Ditto. Mine acts exactly the same way. I waited to purchase the 2014 because of the promise of the 8 speed tranny and boy am I disappointed. I've had all of the updates and it still shifts like s~~t. The slamming into second on that very first shift is really pronounced when temps are below 40 degrees. I have about 4500 miles on mine.

Mine just turned over 6100 miles and have had the same issue. It doesn't seem to be as bad lately but it is either due.to warmer weather or I have started getting into the habit of turning off ECO mode after every start. I don't have the December transmission update and have had to trust the dealership when they said they performed the two prior updates. Think I'll try a different dealership the next go around.

That's ridiculous to take that kind of attitude that I'll just have to wait on it for an update. The right stance is to be pissed off that pathetic Jeep put out a vehicle that doesn't even work right and are expecting owners to "wait" for an update.

I don't appreciate your crappy patronizing tone toward me about "have I driven an 8 speed transmission before." Regardless whether I have or not, it should be shifting smooth, and not having problems like hundreds/thousands of other Jeep owners are having. However, yes I have driven an 8 speed transmission: made by BMW and that was like butter. I never once even felt the shifting!

Regarding the air suspension message: I have had it thrown more than just twice. I throws it a great deal: when I am not using it: and it is very cool outside. Excuse me for not being a complacent doormat about this issue like you. When a vehicle throws an error message, that's alarming especially with only 1k miles on it. Moreover, maybe you have the money to throw around if this car keeps breaking down over time once the warranty is over, but I don't. Plus, I expect a better performing vehicle, especially one with only 1k miles. These two issues are only two of the many I am having to include the remote start, uconnect issues, etc. Maybe you are happy with a half piece of crap vehicle for almost 50k, but I am not.
Hi I'm in Australia have a WK2 with a 8 speed auto and you can't feel it change gears sorry but this Jeep I have would be one of the best cars I've owned at I have had plenty.

Re: If your 8spd trans is rough, put your hand up

I'm going in on the 26th for an oil change and I'm going to ask them to update the software. My transmission shifts like crap and not to mention it's a fight trying to have it find the right gear. I fear pulling out in traffic as it takes it 5 seconds to decide on what would be a simple downshift then slams it in to 1st at 7rpm's after I'm nearly causing accidents.

This issue is with the V6's version of the 8 speed. The Hemi and Diesel Jeeps use a different 8 speed.
