Answer, they don't know, and when they finish with the trans, they will send it back to their AC person to re address my concern that it was written up for when I brought it in on Monday....said they would call me again tomorrow, Thur, with an update......Meanwhile, I'm paying 1K a month for a Jeep I'm not driving, and I'm paying another 20 bucks or so a day for a crappy, stinky, rental car..... and I'm not sure that either problem is really going to be fixed..... If the first trans valve body replacement didn't fix my transmission, I doubt a second one will either, and I know an actuator rod under the dash, cannot cause the rough engine vibration when the AC kicks on at Idle, I could love my Jeep, if they could just fix all the problems it has, but so far, I'm not a Happy Camper with it, and I can't wait to see what other stuff got damaged or screwed up do to their repair work? Great to buy a brand new expensive car, and have to have it all torn apart for repairs....and in and out of the shop all the time.....
FWIW u should have no problem getting Chrysler to reimburse for the rental. Srvc advisor should have pursued approval prior IMHO.... Good luck man that sux!

Thanks, Chrysler is paying the $35.00 a day rental fee, but we still get hit up for the Insurance and taxes, about another $20 a day.... for a day or two, no big thing, but it adds up, about $100.00 for the week, and who know how long this is going to go on for

Ya, its under "discussion"... My case is different than most. Instead of a few major ones it's a litany of annoying ones but they can't seem to stop the blue smoke at startup (75% of all starts). My build date is outside the range for that TSB so I supposedly have the correct windage tray and vac adjust at start. Getting tired of my fellow motorhead neighbors saying, "isn't that a NEW Jeep.". Blah blah

Re: If your 8spd trans is rough, put your hand up

I have 2014 Grand Cherokee Limited and I have currently around 7,500 miles on it. I didn't have any downshifting issues but I do have the slipping 1st to 2nd gear issue that developed around 4,500 mi. It ONLY happens in the morning when the transmission is cold and goes away as soon as I start driving. I had (probably the same) flash about a month ago and they told me it may fix it but it didn't. That flash is more for people that have harsh downshifting issues because now I notice that it shifts from 2nd to 1st only at a complete stop and not a second before.

Anyone know if there is another update out since December ?

I have a 2015 4x4 Overland with 5500 miles and I took it in for the same issue. First started shifting firm between 2-3 then they flashed it and when it was cold was terrible. Took it back and now they are replacing the transmission. I am really concerned about this hopefully Chrysler tech line approved this and made this decision and not a local tech who may not understand these complex transmissions.

Re: If your 8spd trans is rough, put your hand up

Anybody noticed hard downshifts form 8 to 7 in paddle shift mode?
I have it once in a while with not much load on engine.
Concerns me since most of the time it's just fine.
Cruising on Hwy and bang, 7th. gear hits... I truly love my 8-speed tranny :-)

Re: If your 8spd trans is rough, put your hand up

Heres the latest in my 2014 SRT trans problems.... Jeep has now been at the dealership over a week.... Second trans valve body installed, now told that there is a problem with the new valve body being able to be programed to work with my Jeep... Contacted the SRT hotline and I have added them to the mix....Dealer says they have contacted Chrysler and have been waiting 2 days so far, for them to respond with a possible fix, SRT Hotline said would provide me with an update last Friday, but so far haven't heard a thing from them as was promised.... My service advisor advised on Fri, that he would be away until tues do to holiday.... So looks like my Jeep will remain out of service for at least another week, just wonderful
