illuminated buttons

Hi, At night I can not tell which Adaptive Cruise Control button does what; because, unlike every other button, they are not illuminated, (this is the right hand steering wheel control pad on the front, containing 8 buttons 5 on top and 3 below). Both service and parts questioned whether they should be illuminated at all. These statements required me to now treat them as idiots.

Re: illuminated buttons

They do the same things at night as they do during the day.

It shouldn't take long to get used to them. You can't see the buttons on the back of the wheel day or night. They are still very convenient.

Re: illuminated buttons

I hope your not saying the 4 arrows and the OK button on the left are illuminated and the right hand side buttons are not. That is, I hope you are kidding.

Re: illuminated buttons

You have adaptive cruise, just set it to 100 MPH and let it do its thing, no need to see the buttons. If anyone slow is in front of you, it'll slow down till they move. Only problem is when the cops spot you, but you can tell them to ticket the car instead of you since it was the one speeding

Re: illuminated buttons

Yea, I sort of thought that. I guess I just wasn't prepared to have my sarcasm trumped.

Re: illuminated buttons

My radar cruise buttons are lit, the same as all of the other steering wheel buttons.

Re: illuminated buttons

They ordered the part for me. They will mail me, when the part is in. As my mail will be on hold, I will call next Friday to see if it is in.
