Yes, internally it's WK. The forums coined the term WK2.

Is what they're saying mine doesn't have these issues?

I think that means the TSB was incorporated into the production line as of April 4 or maybe a little earlier and engineering thinks this computer program update corrected the listed issues. Only field experience will tell if indeed the reprogram offers better performance, or breaks something else.

I have not observed any of the listed issues with my early May build.

I believe I've experienced some of the issues under the transmission category, but none of the others.

Re: Important new TSB for 2011 5.7L owners

b. Lacks Performance. Some driving conditions can produce circumstances where some customers may perceive more pedal effort is required to get the Powertrain to accelerate the vehicle as desired. The PCM calibration for pedal vs. torque relationship was changed to allow for more torque delivery at less pedal effort/travel.

I feel like this happens on occasion. How pronounced is the lack of power when people experience that? When i experience this i feel like the jeep is being sluggish that day and i need to stand on the pedal to get her to go. Is it worth servicing the vehicle for that? When they ally this updated is it for everything that is listed below or would they just calibrate the pcm?

Re: Important new TSB for 2011 5.7L owners

Just so everyone knows, (at least in my circumstance) the Jeep very well may already have the latest software. Mine is from Sept 10. I went in today with TSB in hand after calling as they know I have been in before for the 1-2 harsh upshift. Even though it was announced on june 30th, my Jeep already has the latest and greatest some how. I am not sure how I already have the latest software, considering I haven't been to them in a month and the last TSB I got was for the ESC I think, which was many months ago..

Thus unfortunately, no update for me even with that laundry list of possible issues.

Maybe Milous can chime in with how this stuff works?

If the TSB was just released I doubt they have been providing it for months. You probably just encountered a dealer blowing hot ignorance in your face.

I also think it's relatively easy to get the TSB, a flash takes minutes and doesn't cost them any money. That said, you can definitely "buy" the flash by ordering an inspection of the vehichle. Any available flash upgrades are usually provided as part of an inspection/tune-up service.

Sounds like you have a dealer that doesn't know what their talking about and doesn't care to check into it. The tsb was just released yesterday so maybe its not in there system yet, but if you have a sept build you don't have the update. A dealer only does a software update with a tsb and they have to label it under the hood on a sticker. This tsb is for those built before april 4th which means this is when the ones in production started to be built with the update anything before that would not have it.

I called two other dealers to get a second opinion and they both glady said bring it in and they would scan the Jeep and see if it had the latest software. However both agreed that you very well could have the latest software. They both said even though the TSB was released on 6/30 the software might have been out for a few months. Since more and more people are starting to show signs of some of these symptoms they said Chrysler then might release a TSB, letting dealerships know that the software they released (Maybe 3 months ago) fixes XX amount of issues. (I assume since April 4th is cutoff as we know, it probably was released to dealers sometime near that date)

So I feel more comfortable now, and might take it to a second dealer just to double check however I assume that the original dealer is correct. One dealer said they have had a software update for Hemi GC for quite some time now and they don't necessarily have a "new" one since the TSB came out yesterday. And thats coming from the largest dealer in the tri-state area of NY.

Are all the improvements you list contained in one TSB or are there separate TSBs for each one?

Re: Important new TSB for 2011 5.7L owners

Assuming it is true that its been out for a few months which I doubt, the question I would ask is how did it get on your sept build vehicle. When they release software updates its for a reason and there is a process and it has to be documented that the software was modified on your vehicle. You should also have a sticker under the hood with the update number which is the tsb number which was just released. Another thing is it will be on a work order saying what they did so the dealer can get paid by chrysler for the time to install the update. I went through this with my 3.6 limited that I had when they came out with the update for engine performance. I went to the dealer and they said we don't see any updates. I pulled out the TSB and stood there while they found it in their system and they did the update. One thing I have found is dealers seem to be the last to know and anytime I have gone in with an issue I am always always the first one to have that problem. I would press them on this so you can get it running the way it should be.
