Interior Trim Issue

Hi all picked up my 2012 Overland a couple weeks ago , been to the dealership for a couple small issues since (pinched exterior window trim and a small chip by lift gate from transport) however tonight the wife noticed something that I never have as I don't sit in the passenger seat ever. I assume based on the pics this is not something normal and should be replaced under warranty? The driver side looks nothing like this , I love the car but something like this should not have passed QC in my opinion, let me know your thoughts. Looks to me like the headliner is pushed up too high??

Re: Interior Trim Issue

I assume you have already tried to pulled it down.

Re: Interior Trim Issue

You have to look at build quality on previous Jeeps to compare. The WK2 is LIGHT YEARS ahead. Doesn't excuse issues like this, but big change takes time and the WK2 is a HUGE change.

The headliner is likely just physically pushed up, could have happened in transport after the vehicle left the factory. If it doesn't pop down I'm sure the dealer will address it.

Re: Interior Trim Issue

Just fix it yourself!! These little interior things are normally pretty simple to fix and are nothing more than a piece of weather stripping that isnt pushed in all the way, or a interior panel on the wrong side of the strip etc etc. The last place I would want to take my vehicle is a dealership. Chances are they will screw something else up in the process. There were a couple minor things I had to fix on my 2012 after taking delivery and I had no problems doing them myself. Just take a few minutes and look at the issue. if you can do it yourself go for it, if not then I guess take it in. Even if the dealership does an ok job I dont want some dirty ass oily dude sitting and driving my new Jeep :-)

I do agree with people though, these WK2's do seem to have some quality control issues. I see waaayyyyy too many body panel alignment issues its not even funny. I saw a new SUmmit at the dealership the other day and it was horrendous. The drivers side front door looked like it fell off and some kid screwed it back on. Worst alignment of a door I have EVER seen. THe rest of that same Jeep was inconsistant as well. Then comparing it to the same car right next to it that one was all over the place too.

Took it in to the dealership yesterday and they had it fixed in 45 min, they did a great job and didn't screw anything up, even the headliner was clean. The service manager agreed that this kind of stuff should have been caught, all in all pretty pleased but like I said before I am surprised something like that passes quality control. Just glad I got it all sorted out. Asides from small things like this the Jeep is great and a pleasure to drive.

Re: Interior Trim Issue

UGH! I too have this same issue on the passenger side door as my wife pointed it out to me yesterday and I thought I saw a thread on this. I could not fix it. Driver side has no problem. This is pathetic that it passed QC. It's a pretty good size gap. Off to the dealership.
