Intermittent ESC Activation / Malfunction Indicator Light

Twice now this light came up on my dashboard. The first time, some 3 weeks ago, I accelerated very fast on dry pavement, in regular drive mode. Last night it came on while accelerating very fast onto dry pavement after I had just come to a complete stop at the end of a dirt/gravel road.

Both times the light did not disappear by itself but the light reset itself after cycling the ignition.

On page 294 of MY 2014 owner's manual, section 21: Electronic Stability Control (ESC) Activation/Malfunction Indicator Light it says...exactly what is says below. But I am not sure I understand completely the proper behavior of the light:

1) Did the light come on and then go out with the engine running? YES
2) Did it come continuously with the engine running? NO
3) Did the light remain on after several ignition cycles ? NO, disappeared immediately after I turned on the engine
4) Did I drive the vehicle several miles at speeds greater than 30 mph? YES - I drove 100 miles at speeds in excess of 70 after the ignition cycle that cleared the light. The light did not reappear.

But I also drove several miles with the light on at speeds greater than 30 mph, with the light on and before cycling the ignition, both times, and the light did not disappear by itself.

So, on a normally working vehicle, is this light ever supposed to disappear by itself or is cycling the ignition a mandatory step in resetting the light ? I don't recall that light turn on even in winter, well I don't remember it ever turning on in 3 years of ownership. Do I have a yaw sensor malfunction or not?
