irregular paint/roof panel near sunroof

It's difficult to explain and more difficult to take a picture of, but i'll give it a shot and would like to know if anyone else has experienced this.

Last week I noticed my pano roof was leaking, so I took a look at the roof and noticed that the paint/panel near the driver side of the sunroof is 'wavy'.

I only noticed it at a particular angle when light reflected off of that spot. the paint and roof panel is smooth, but nearing the edge of the sunroof, there's about a 3-5" portion that is not smooth and a bit wavy.

Any ideas of what this could be? I will try to take a pic, but was unsuccessful with the given light and iphone. I'm not sure if this is the cause of a bad seal with the sun roof and causing a leak, if this is considered "normal" by Jeep, or if I should waste my time bringing it in...I figure there's not much they would do to repair it and if they did, I don't trust it would be any better.

thoughts?

Personally, I could care less about a paint imperfection on the roof. But a pano leak would have me straight into the dealer.

and to further explain the leak, I got in the car after it sat out in the rain and I saw a water droplet from the sunglasses holder. I did some research and found others have also had this issue, the people with the issues didn't seem to have a positive response from dealers. Some had their pano roof adjusted and didn't notice the issue, others got the "could not replicate" response.

My dealer has a guy who specializes in leaks. My wife's Compass had water coming into the dome light from the sunroof. He had it taken care of in an hour. Several years now, and no more leaking. If I were you I'd get it into the dealer, leaks can cause all sorts of havoc.

just got off the phone with my dealer, they also have a specialist that comes in once a week to take care of sunroof leaks.

it's amazing that they'd need this. first, I was surprised when he said his techs are not trained to diagnose and fix sunroof leaks and that's why they have a specialist come in once a week. second, that it's so common that they need a specialist once a week.
