I noticed I now have Yelp in my apps. Wonder if I just happened to see my car waking up for that update?

Re: Jeep Dash Waking Up?

I think RF noise may be the case. Ill tell you why. Next time when in a parking lot -- hit the remote start - or - just unlock the doors - from a crazy distance. It works! The proximity sensors may work the same - and - perhaps - its a proximity issue -- and - at long distances! Ive noticed when passing the GC in the garage - that the dash was on.

and ye s- I see yelp was pushed. I bet they can push updates etc at any time - the iPhone/android app pushes and wakes -- why can't they theoretically push stuff to a 'sleeping' jeep... Interesting!

The only reason I suspected the push over the proximity was that I didn't have the key on me. They were tucked away and hadn't moved in hours. Not saying it couldn't still be that...

Interesting about the distance of the key FOB though. I will have to experiment and see how far I can get it to work!

Just so you know my noise theory is not about proximity of the remote. There may be other noise in the area in the same band. I do a lot of wireless diagnostics in peoples homes and businesses and there believe me, there is RF noise everywhere all the time (Alaska excluded for the most part).

agree... brought up the remote - because - the receiver in the jeep is strong enough to pick up the remote from far away - agreeing that with all the RF bleed - teh jeep may be acting as a powerful antenna - waking up the dash repeatedly - from noise. PErhaps an example of Jeep engineers trying to improved distance - and sensitivity of teh remote - yet - an unintended consequence of being too sensitive and an RF magnet with significant range! We may be on to something -- you guys should check how far you can do remote start -- i was floored - like from across a parking lot!!!

Re: Jeep Dash Waking Up?

If you had to be close to the car to use the remote start it would kind of defeat the purpose.

It could be anything waking up the car. We live close to Dover Air Force Base. Our area falls into a 'normally' no fly zone. But on those occasions when planes would fly over, one of my neighbors garage doors would open and close. It didn't matter what settings he used, so he finally replaced it.

Re: Jeep Dash Waking Up?

yes just speaking to the fact that the jeep has a much wider range of reception than any other car I've owned - almost absurdly wide.
