Quality is something that comes with price as well.

I've had a couple very minor things, but overall my Jeep is very high quality for what it is.

The "if you think Jeep sucks then try a Mercedes because they suck more" defense does not ring home on this issue to me.
Thats not at all what I said.

That being said I dont think it is the design engineers faults and they probably did an amazing job given the parameters they where forced to work in. ( budget, materials etc )
Exactly.

Re: JEEP Engineers suck!

I think I agree with the majority here where the title does not fit the original post. You hate the engineers because you can't fit a full size spare you have a 90 percent chance of not using? Did anyone think the reason of smaller spares has to do with weight? That is the main reason most other cars have no spare tires. My previous car was a BMW 3 series coupe; no spare at all; the reason is BMW wants a near perfect 50/50 ratio. I am sure the very smart Jeep engineers had a very good reason not to give you the spare you wanted. Just enjoy your jeep!

My 2006 BMW 325 didn't have a spare either. And the runflat tires were aweful.

My previous car before the WK2 was a 2010 M3 Coupe. Since M cars don't come with run flats (fine by me), it only came with an air compressor and a bottle of tire sealant in the trunk.

Does it have 20" wheels? No.

What's your point? The overall rolling diameter of the current 17s, 18s, and 20s are all nearly identical.

Re: JEEP Engineers suck!

I'm saying that it's the 20s that don't fit in the WK2's tire well. The 18s fit.

All companies are moving away from matching spares on large diameter wheels.
