Jeep Liberty Sport Motor Oil Type

I just bought a 2012 Liberty Sport with almost 22,000 miles. What motor oil should I use?

Re: Jeep Liberty Sport Motor Oil Type

From page 503 of the owners manual;

"Use API Certified SAE 5W-20 Engine Oil, meeting the requirements of
Chrysler Material Standard MS-6395. Refer to your engine oil filler cap for
correct SAE grade."

If you don't have an owners manual you can download one free.

Re: Jeep Liberty Sport Motor Oil Type

I throw a couple of bottles of Techron in the tank, once a year.

Around 10 years ago I brought my car to a dealer for a check engine light. After checking the code he said to use the Techron and drive 25 miles. I asked how much and he replied that it was too expensive at the dealership and suggested Walmart, a mile down the road. The once a year was his suggestion.

Stay away from additives. They are not needed with todays fuel formulations.
