jeep slowing down

Question---have a 2011 JGC with 31,000 miles and auto trans. Lately it seems that when you take your foot off the accelerator it seems to be slowing down by itself pretty significantly. Its almost like having a stick and dropping it into a lower gear and slowing down that way. Any suggestions? Thanks all in advance for your help

I noticed this too. I was not sure if it was normal or not.
I've got a 2012 V8 with the 6-Speed transmission and I noticed this slowing sensation from day one.

It isn't as dramatic as the OP, but I do notice the difference from other vehicles I've owned or driven.

Its almost like there is an unusual amount of drag on the transmission or vehicle sometimes.

richp, when yours slowed down was it significant or subtle? It seems that mine is doing this as well, but it is pretty subtle. I can not figure out if it is a function of the 5 speed trans or if there is a real problem. I expect if I take it into the dealer they will not find anything.

OK thanks for the info. Mine seems very minor and does not happen all the time. Mostly during stop and go traffic with the trans is being put under more stress. My guess if there was another gear in the trans it would be a little smoother, but it is something I can deal with unless it gets worse or the check engine light comes on again.

I noticed it with mine this morning. when it did it. The check engine light came on. It is now at the dealer.
Had this happen when I had exhaust leaks and O2 sensor problems. It was erratic though. Mainly when I had codes pending
(but not yet matured).

Only thing consistent was that it only happened on days that end in a "y".
