Pano roof is great as long as you never roll it. Personally, coming from a convertible I'm glad my roof is solid. Being able to look up at the sky while driving is way overrated. Hardly ever put the top down after the first year.

I feel constricted in a car w/o a sunroof now. I have mine open all the time..today, actually. It was about 60 on the way home and I had all the windows open.

My 2 yr old loves the pano roof and she prefers the Jeep to the Cayenne (small sunroof). Rear seat passengers have also commented how open the Jeep feels with the screen open. Personally, I like the natural light coming from the pano roof when driving. Feels like a convertible without the wind in my hair.

I think the pano roof is great, that way when it starts to leak (as every sunroof ever put in a vehicle has eventually done) the backseat occupants get to enjoy wet seats too...

Re: Jeep tore apart at dealer due to pano roof

Here's a thought. I know others here only have the pano or sunroof because it came standard, and would rather not have it because of potential problems. I too feel that way. What about modding it off the vehicle. I wonder how much a good body shop would charge to remove it and close the hole and replace the headliner? Just a thought.

Re: Jeep tore apart at dealer due to pano roof

In '93 I ordered an Explorer with a sunroof. After a short time I installed the removable shade and never took it out.

Since then I've had a couple that were standard. In the MDX you could remotely open all windows, which included the sunroof. I would use that feature approaching the dock after a day on the water. It would help let that built up heat out. As soon as getting in the car, it would be closed up in favor of a/c.

Never had a leak in any of them, so I wouldn't pay to have it removed.
