I dropped my jeep off last friday for them to check out a bad rattle in the panoramic sunroof and a vibration in the front end. They got me a nice dodge ram v8 rental which i had for about a week now. I called them today and they said they had to gut the entire interior and ordered a new sunroof assy and headliner and a couple parts for the front end. The service manager doesn't know when they'll get done with my jeep since they had to gut the interior, seats and all. He told me to keep the rental until they can get my jeep fixed. I'm glad they're finally fixing the problem, but i probably wont ever get another jeep with the pano sunroof. Im thankful that this dealer has taken good care of me even though i didn't buy my jeep there and even though i have to drive over 60 miles, its worth it to get quality service. Hopfully ill have my jeep back soon, im starting to like this dodge ram..lol.

Holy crap. Yeah i would have preferred to have not gotten the pano roof but the dang thing is standard on the Overland and Summit. Booo.

They replaced mine and had my Jeep for three weeks. I then had to take it back because they didn't hook everything up right and parts were missing. I raised hell and the service manager agreed with me being upset. They corrected the problem and assured me that the tech that did the job would not be working on my Jeep again. The good thing is the rattle is gone. I am not a fan of sunroofs and would not have picked it other than it was standard on the Overland.;)

I had a rattle in the headliner in my '12...the dealer had it fixed once, then it came back. Second time around, they replaced the headliner and who knows whatever else. Had it for about two weeks. Good news, rattle was gone and headliner didn't even budge, which it had before. Bad news, when they slid it in, it shaved a wire in the overhead, which then grounded on the chassis. Did all kinds of funky sh*t to the lights inside. They had that fixed quick though.

NO, its no joke, when i stopped by there yesterday they had all the interior trim and the fronts seats out the the vehicle, they just folded the rear seats down, the headliner is gone as long as the entire sunroof assy, they are waiting for the new parts to come in, hopefully they can get the parts soon so i can get my jeep back by this weekend, hopefully.

Seriously, I can see them needing as much room as they can get when working on the entire pano roof. They have to remove the entire headliner and need to pull the seats to have room to move and manuever in the cabin. If they have to re-seal the entire assembly, they will be moving all around the cabin installing the new parts so it is very logical to do all that.

Hope you get it back together and it all works out.

I got my jeep back this past friday and no more rattles!:D Ive been driving it for a week now and no noise whatsoever. They had to replace all of the hardware for the sunroof and a new headliner with reinforced clips, the service guy told me that this is a known issue and that all jeeps with the pano roof with have this problem eventually and Chrysler knows this. Im trying to make sure everything is kosher before my warranty runs out, because i cant imagine having to pay to fix something like this out of pocket.

I feel constricted in a car w/o a sunroof now. I have mine open all the time..today, actually. It was about 60 on the way home and I had all the windows open.

My 2 yr old loves the pano roof and she prefers the Jeep to the Cayenne (small sunroof). Rear seat passengers have also commented how open the Jeep feels with the screen open. Personally, I like the natural light coming from the pano roof when driving. Feels like a convertible without the wind in my hair. :)

Here's a thought. I know others here only have the pano or sunroof because it came standard, and would rather not have it because of potential problems. I too feel that way. What about modding it off the vehicle. I wonder how much a good body shop would charge to remove it and close the hole and replace the headliner? Just a thought.

In '93 I ordered an Explorer with a sunroof. After a short time I installed the removable shade and never took it out.

Since then I've had a couple that were standard. In the MDX you could remotely open all windows, which included the sunroof. I would use that feature approaching the dock after a day on the water. It would help let that built up heat out. As soon as getting in the car, it would be closed up in favor of a/c.

Never had a leak in any of them, so I wouldn't pay to have it removed.
