JGC 2015: 4WD, ABS, FCW, ACC, Parking sensors failure

Hi,
Traveling from Chicago to Miami, our JGC lost most of the security feature after traveling through a heavy rain. I took a video from the dash and instrument panel.
We went to Chrysler service department in Nashville, however they did not have time to take a look at the car the same day. They told us that we can drive the car but those features will not be availble. We drove towards Miami and after around 100 miles all warnings disapeared. During the evening it started raining again but not that heavy and we got the warnings again. I don't want to relate the issues to rain but the problem showed up during driving under rainy weather.
Here is the link to the video that I took from the dash.

Re: JGC 2015: 4WD, ABS, FCW, ACC, Parking sensors failure

I have scheduled an appointment to have the dealership to take a look at the car.
Yesterday, I got multiple failures including air bag failure, electronic break failure, 4 WD failure, traction control failure, Air suspension failure and more.
The car has only 21K on it.
The video has been attached.

Any idea what could be the reason for such multiple failures on a almost new car?

Sure, same thing that caused all of the '14 "Christmas Tree" failures, a bad ground

Re: JGC 2015: 4WD, ABS, FCW, ACC, Parking sensors failure

Brought the car to the service department on Friday. However they could not root cause the issue and they could not reproduce the failure either. They told me that they drove the car for 20 miles but everything was normal. On the next occurrence, I will take the car directly to the dealership without stopping the engine. It seems that I am not the only one that got the electronic failure issue. See the link below:

Gremlins. Maybe a bad ground, like padgett said. Bring it back and give them your videos, like you probably did before. See if you can get a loaner from them, for your trouble. My dealer uses Enterprise car rental and I've gotten that like 2-3 times, for my gremlins. Good luck and let us know how this ends.

Or you could take a wrench to the passenger side frame rail ground conections. If any are loose, there you are. That is what I'd do but tend to look to myself first and the dealer second even with a warrenty.

As Padgett said, probably a bad ground. I just checked the two grounds on the passenger side frame rail on my '15 Overland, and they were not as tight as they should have been. I haven't had any failures similar to the OP's, but I tightened the grounds just the same.

I really wonder if anyone on the assembly line QC's these vehicles.....

Please help point me where to look for those grounds. Front door, or rear door? Thanks in advance.

Under the hood, passenger side, below the fuse box. There are two 10mm nuts, attached to the frame rail.

Re: JGC 2015: 4WD, ABS, FCW, ACC, Parking sensors failure

Sorry, I could check that, but I was so busy in the last couple of days.
Today it was raining and I was expecting the failure on the car, since the problem shows up when it is raining:
I drove the car to the work this morning, it was raining however no warning light came up. 21 miles from home to work.
This evening, I tried to remotely start the car, it did not start.
I started the car manually then I got the following malfunctioning warnings:

Service 4WD system.
Service ABS with warning lights on.
Service air suspension system.
Service Electronic break system.
Service airbag system.
Traction control light was on.
Red brake light on the dash was on.
Parking sensors were disabled.
The Speedometer on the dash was not working. (No speed or mileage count while I was driving).
FCW and ACC were disabled.
The stop lights (break lights) were on all the time, as if you pressed the foot on the break all the time.

Then I called the service department, no one from service department answered my call.
I decided to drive home and drive the car to service department on Saturday morning.

I parked the car in garage and turned the engine off. I noticed the instrument panel light and the stop lights on the back of the car were still on.
I checked the light switch, it was off but the stop lights were still on.
I turned on the car and turned it off again, no changes and the stop lights were still on.

I decided if I kept the car at my garage the battery would be drained, I drove the car to your service department.

I left my grand Cherokee at the service department this evening (Friday 01/08/2016).
I showed the lady the lights on the instrument panel.

The lady at the service department noted the issues , however some of the warning lights were gone.
I got a rental car and drove home.

Hopefully, this time they can diagnose the issue since the issue (partially) existed when I delivered the car.

Re: JGC 2015: 4WD, ABS, FCW, ACC, Parking sensors failure

Here is the progress report:
1-Dealership called us and told us that the issue was the a defective ABS module and they replaced it and the problem should be gone. The warning lights came back just after my husband left the dealership with the car. He drove the car back to the dealership again.
2-They looked again and 2 days after they called us and told us that the issue was a defective speed sensor and they replaced it and the problem should be gone. they told us that they drove the car for several miles and the lights did not come back. My husband picked up the car and before even he leave the dealership's parking lot, the lights came back again. Again back to the service department.
3-Today they called us and told us that the issue was a bad wiring and short cut under the passenger side. They assured my husband that this is the issue. We are crossing fingers now. Tomorrow we are going to pick up the car for the fifth time.
They have been very kind and gave us a rental car always. We love this car after all.
