JGC Exterior color names are misleading

When I went to a lot to look at JGCs, it seemed like they had two colors: Several variations on "dark" and several variations on "light." The green looked like black with maybe a hint of green in some lighting. The blue looked like black with maybe a hint of blue in some lighting. Several of the colors looked like black with maybe some other color thrown in or maybe the black was lightened up somewhere in the grey range.

IMHO, they should have more color variety, and the green color should look green just like it does in the configurator. The blue should look blue as it does in the configurator.

Just sayin.

Re: JGC Exterior color names are misleading

You'll never get an accurate color representation out of a printed brochure or online configurator... the later due to color settings of various monitors. The best is always to look at them in person.

On the subject of colors... Jeep always made me laugh with their greens. It seemed that they'd never leave this particular color alone from one model year to the next. I've never seen so many strange (and ugly) shades in my life. The only decent shade of green they ever offered was what I had on my 02 Limited... Onyx Green Pearlcoat.

I COMPLETELY agree. Seems like you have White, Red, A couple variations of gray and a couple variations of Black. I was very disappointed in the color options too. I was actually all ready to buy green until I saw it in person. If I wanted black I'd just get black. After viewing a few, Max Steel has some nice character, Red is nice, Blue is darker than I'd like. I ended up ordering the Blue version of Black, Max Steel was my second choice.

I agree though, the color selection is horrible.

When i was shopping around I originally wanted true blue. While at one of the dealerships I mentioned it to sales guy, he told me b4 I buy it to look at that color on a gloomy day. I asked why and he said when you see it you'll know. So few days later I'm on my way to work its a very gloomy day with a little drizzle and what do I see parked down the block a true blue 2014 JGC only its not blue its PURPLE!!!!
what is seen can not be unseen.
I got mine in maximum steel...

Wish they offered some flat colors black/gray/blue

We test drove this color because it was on the dealer lot. We just stood there staring at it not really wanting to believe that it looked purple!

We ordered white.
