How many miles? Do you have QuadraLift? What kind of tires?
When we bought was 49700 now its just above 50k. Tires are the Goodyear Forteras, three of which are apparently 'bad' but balance fine (and there has been no vibration in that department since they were balanced by myself). In terms of wear they are almost new. I do have the QuadraLift and from what I know of it, it seems to operate smoothly and like it should.
I have kind of zoned in on the shudder a bit more yesterday. First, it happens to both sides. But more so (way more) the right than left. It definitely comes from the front and it really doesn't feel like the rear does the same shudder if I hit a bump with a rear tire exclusively.
I've realized the term for what I am feeling is a shudder, and like I said, a one off bump it will just shudder for a second or so, but if there are many road irregularities, it's constant but never increasing in intensity. Has happened at any speed. It also feels like depressions in the road (man hole covers, dips, even slight) bring on the shudder more so than raised areas/bumps.
-If I push on either side of the front of the car, not much give is there. Plus, the shocks seem to cover the 'big' bumps quite well. And there isn't floaty bounce.
-The bent rim was on the left front at the time the dealer had me balance the tires.
The dealer is having me take it to their preferred mechanic Tuesday, and honestly, I want to believe he has my best interest at heart, but it is likely the other way around (although I still give him the benefit of the doubt) I want to hopefully kind of zone in on a few causes for this so that I know what to tell the mechanic to look for and what to look for after (as the case with the dealer tire balancing, just left the vehicle with worse tire balance)
I am not afraid to poke around in the least, however I don't have any tools to really dig deep.
