appear in the Driver Information Display (DID). Refer
to “Driver Information Display (DID)” in “Understanding
Your Instrument Panel” for further information.

It will go into neutral with the transmission in park and not running. I know first hand.

That is not the case in my situation and if this happened to me it can happen to anyone. My car would not start, it was dead. The only way to put the car in neutral to be towed on a flatbed is the procedure that I mentioned earlier.

Technology gone bad,crary!.
Another reason I won't touch JGC if it continues with the current shifter.

I see a dial in the future of this truck.

Just imagine....2 dials 2 cupholders.

Can't wait to put a hole in my garage door when I accidentally put the vehicle in snow mode instead of reverse.

Good luck with your truck.
Hope its a simple fix.

Re: just had to be towed. words of warning

Why call AAA? Isn't there a button on the rearview mirror and also an 800 number for roadside assistance for the term of the warranty? Heck, I think they even will jump your Jeep and put air in a flat tire... Never had to use the service myself though.

Best wishes on a healthy and happy Jeep!

If I had to be towed depending on the distance I would probably call AAA also. I just recently used Chrysler road side assistance to have my new Chrysler 200 towed and they will only pay to have it towed to the nearest dealer. So It cost me 100 dollar out my pocket to have it towed to my dealer which was about 40 miles. If I would have used my AAA I have 100 miles of free towing. Also just so everyone know the lever he is taking about is to put the transmission in neutral not the transfer case. It seemed like there was a little confusion on that as I read the tread.

Re: just had to be towed. words of warning

So, I had this happen to me a couple times in a day back in Sept. In both cases everything worked, even remote start until I hit the break peddle to press the start button and the truck would shut off. Do that 2 or 3 times and the car will not restart at all. Door locks worked and stuff, but all power to accessories were non functional. In all cases, the warning on the dash was "Key FOB not detected".

The first time, I was able to start by pushing the start button with the fob. I stopped to get gas and it did the same thing to me again, but this time the fob deal didn't work. Called a tow truck and the guy took one look and started to walk away and was refusing to tow it because it was stuck in gear. I told him about the release and we popped it and he pulled it right up. He didn't know about it, so he was actually happy he learned something out of it.

Dumped it off at the dealership and they ended up getting it into the shop the next day because I had the windows partially down and rain was coming. They disconnected the battery, waited 5 minutes, and then hooked it back up and everything worked just fine. Haven't had the problem since. So now I keep something to unhook the battery to reboot the computer system which is what I have been told a couple times now at the dealership.

It was good for me as I found out where the two points on the front were.
