Why do you care so much for an outdated piece of equipment that takes up most of the center armrest storage area...something that's even been discontinued by Chrysler themselves?

Just ask to be compensated with some other accessory.

That's exactly what I would do. In the first there was a hint of a complaint about the space in the arm rest storage.

I have the cd and wish I did not. It takes up too much space.

I know CDs are safe, but why would you put an investment tool in your dash?

CD goes in the console - SPDRs go in the dash.

MWBATR. Paying $195 for a $30 CD/DVD makes a lot of sense for Chrysler, early cars are going to be loaded and will stay that way as long as sales keep increasing. Marketting 101.

OTOH if an option wil provide more return in a different market then domestic availability may be delayed. It is just sound business.

Once the demand drops then you mayl start seeing things like diesels in Laredos (a US model anyway) with base electronics but as long as the demand stays high it will likely be hard to find a WK2 without a CD.

I have a '14 with 600 miles on it and it sounds like the red sea is parting every time I hit the breaks. Ridiculous. Utterly ridiculous. It does NOT matter the model year. I am seriously thinking about moving into a Range Rover at a huge loss. RR's may have some issues, but at least their trucks don't fill up with water like a bath tub.

Well, if it really bothers you that much, you may be better off in another vehicle. Are you saying the dealer can't fix the problem? If so, I don't blame you. Bought a Ford Bronco years ago, had so many problems the first 6 months I traded it in for another brand. Lost a nice chunk of change, but regained my sanity. That was the one and only Ford I've ever owned. I'm sure Ford makes some very good vehicles, but you couldn't give me one for free.

Jacko, I have NEVER had to deal with the problem of standing water in any car that I have ever owned (including older Jeep products), let along something brand new. I suspect this is the reason why so many are having issues with UConnect etc. If not for these forums, how would one even know about the issue to begin with. I must have so much water accumulating in my truck that I can actually here it sloshing around. Many more I suspect have the same issue but just aren't cognizant of it.

Re: just left the lot and taking it back! 2014 grand cherokee

I've had three cars in my family with water problems. My mother's Corsica kept getting puddles in the front passenger floor pan. Never got that fixed. I had a Firebird that kept getting puddles on the dashboard, ended up replacing the windshield and gaskets. My wife's Compass had the infamous sunroof leak into the dome light. Stuff like this happens and you get it fixed and move on, or get rid of the vehicle. If this problem has caused you to lose faith in the Jeep brand, then I'd get rid of it. My mother got rid of the Corsica, and never bought another Chevy the rest of her life. Just wondering, what course of action have you decided on?

I don't understand why you would get a CD player but no sunroof. :/
