Key fob

If my key fobs are barely communicating with my 2012 jeep Cherokee overland, what could be the cause? I've changed batteries several times. It works for about a week and then back to barely unlocking. A lot of times it will tell me that key is not detected and won't start or starting dinging at me after started that fob has left the vehicle. Any suggestions would be great. Is there another way to start it without the fob when it's considered key less enter and go?

Re: Key fob

Do both fobs act the same? If so it is a receiver problem, if only one, a fob problem.
The "start" button pops out and you can use the fob like a regular key.

Re: Key fob

From the manual:
"NOTE: In case the ignition switch does not change with
the push of a button, the RKE transmitter (Key Fob) may
have a low or dead battery. In this situation a back up
method can be used to operate the ignition switch. Put
the nose side (side opposite of the emergency key) of the
Key Fob against the ENGINE START/STOP button and
push to operate the ignition switch."

The manual can answer a lot of questions.
