@rdalcanto -- The "end-point voltage" (i.e. the voltage at which the device is not guaranteed to work) for a 2032 cell is 2.0 volts.

Re: Key FOB Recognition Issue (Key not detected)

Having an issue with just ONE of our two key fobs. (FYI, the "problem" fob has a brand new battery).

On occasion (intermittently), the problem fob will open the door, adjust the seat, etc., to all the pre-programmed settings and then not start the car with the push button, and get the notification "Key Not Recognized".

Any idea why this would be happening while the other fob operates perfectly??

I also realized that I don't have to shut off the car and turn it back on to clear the message, just open and close a door. -- I actually just got the Jeep back from getting the radio TSB performed and I believe they scanned for other updates and reset the computer. I haven't seen the key problem reappear since I got it back....so fingers crossed.
I'm having the key not detected or key left vehicle problem. I've seen other posts that mention TSB. What does that mean? Thanks.

Re: Key FOB Recognition Issue (Key not detected)

I've had intermittent issues with both key fob's. Put in new batteries an all's well for 2-3 weeks and the issues return. Just took the fob apart, bent the four battery contacts as well as the side contact. Right now it's working properly. The dealer couldn't recreate the problem last month. It get's a little frustrating, especially on a rainy day the the doors won't open by hand or fob.

Re: Key FOB Recognition Issue (Key not detected)

TSB just requires a simple "flash" at the dealer. Corrected my issues.

Re: Key FOB Recognition Issue (Key not detected)

Hello I dont know if anyone is still listening or watching this thread but I have a 2013 Jeep GC and also having KEY FOB issues. I get this message allot and the dealership has since replaced the key fob, just one day after they replaced it I remote started the Jeep and my wife and I got in so she could feed the baby. Right after we closed the doors they ignition viewer said "NO KEY IN VEHICLE" and disabled the Jeep. Sure enough nothing would work, couldnt unlock the doors from inside, couldnt unlock with remote or even lock with remote. Took the key fob apart to get to the spare key and popped the push button start out and nothing key wouldnt turn. At a loss here the dealership says they cannot reduplicate the problem. We got this thin in Jan 2013 and I would have to say its been the worst new vehicle we have owned. Its been in the shop more times then our 2006 Honda Ridgeline had been in the 7 years we owned it..

Thanks

Re: Key FOB Recognition Issue (Key not detected)

So, how did you get out of the veh?

For key fob battery issues I have taken out the battery and sanded the contact surfaces of the battery with fine sand paper and that seems cure the problem.

Re: Key FOB Recognition Issue (Key not detected)

Took a few minutes, but I kept pressing the buttons until the Vehicle started, then was finally able to unlock the doors.

The alarms went off because I tried opening the doors from the inside of the car. Since the Jeep locked itself it armed itself too and by opening the doors without them unlocked it caused the alarm to go off but it took a few minutes to get the alarm to shut off. This is crazy though. You pay 40k for something and it should atleast work decently.. IMO
