Key Upgrade?

Hey Everyone! I have a crazy question. I have a 2013 Overland and I hate the key. It reminds me of an old dodge minivan that I had and hated. I love love the new 2014 keyfob. Any world where I can upgrade or change out my key?

I'm interested in the same thing but have a 2011. Hopefully someone knows the answer?

Re: Key Upgrade?

I kinda doubt it. But since you'd probably need a dealer to program a new key to your vehicle, that would be the place to ask the question.

Re: Key Upgrade?

Also new FOBs are pretty expensive if I remember correctly.

I feel you though as I hated the key on my 2011 and really like my 2014s FOB. That old key was a weird shape with sharp corners on the top. It used to make little cuts in my jean pockets.

Re: Key Upgrade?

Can't answer for anyone else and kinda shows my ignorance of Jeep,(even though a Jeep owner for 26 years!),my Laredo came with the keyless system (that's never failed),so in the years we have owned it the key has never been used,(electronic key) so has the push to start in it as well. This is where my ignorance shows............as mine came with it,can't others be upgraded?Am sure it ain't cheap, but if someone really wants it,I am sure they would spend the coin to have it.
My old Wrangler key has worn a hole in many a pair of jeans!!!
Again, like I said,I AM ignorant and my reply may be viewed as such,so guys, don't damn me to hell for it!!!
I DID take advantage of the MaxCare warranty awhile ago and got another electronic key(just a side note).
Again,I DO apologise if this is a useless and/or unhelpful post.
Guess it would help some if I added the vehicle I refer to is 2011 JGC Laredo, keyless system, uConnect, full leather, panoramic sunroof(added that info as don't remember the order package coding).
