Re: Keyless Entry Problem

Tell me how much you guys paid to have all this technical gadget malfunction that the stealerships can't repair.
It helps me justify my stock WJ.

YES - I have had similar problem that I have told dealer about either 5 or 6 times. The last time, they replaced something and the person told me she had personally checked it several times without fail. I went out to get in the car and it did not work the very first time I tried it. I went back inside and the person had already gone home. I complained to the other person their and he told me he would have her call me the next morning. I am still waiting 6 weeks later. I have recently also had an additional problem several times: When a passenger would leave the passenger side of the car, I would get message "key has left the vehicle" when the key is still in my pocket.

Re: Keyless Entry Problem

There is a long thread about the WK2 key fob.
Search:
Infamous "key not detected" problem.

In short, I (personally) would recommend purchasing a new battery for the fob and replacing it. It helped cure many of my "key fob" woes - as this thing is really quite tempermental especially when the battery (in the fob) is getting weak.
