Keyless Entry Problems 2010 Cherokee

Hi everyone! I have read several posts about keyless entry issues on the 2010 Grand Cherokee, but I haven't seen any new threads in a while. I am at my wits end with my less than 1 year old Jeep. The keyless entry is sporadic and works fine sometimes, but other times it take 30 button presses to open the door. I have had 6 different fobs and they replaced the entire control module, as well as doing numerous software updates and none of that has helped. It has done this since the beginning when I drove it off the lot. It has been in to 2 different dealers 8 times in the past 11 months and they can't fix it. Is this thing a lemon? (also, I have replaced the horn twice, and now the windshield wiper went out in the middle of an ice storm the other day). It is a 2020 Limited package. I spoke with a Chrysler rep and she admitted that this is a widespread issue. My dealer blames it on an airforce base that is 20 miles away. COP OUT. This same dealer also told me that if I wanted better service, I should have bought a Lexus. Classy. I am just wondering if any of you are experiencing this same issue. Currently researching Lemon Laws...

What do you mean this is the wrong forum? I don't know what WK means. I figured that the troubleshooting forum was the best place but I am new to this. I figured that everyone here was smarter than any dealer that I have in town.

This specific forum is for WK2 problems. WK2 is Jeep GC 2011 or newer.

You have 2010 with internal designation WK. It is discussed in this forum:

Uh...thanks. Maybe this isn't the right place for me at all. I was just hoping that someone else has the same problems that I do.

I'll just delete my post and attemp to unload the Heap. Thanks.

Re: Keyless Entry Problems 2010 Cherokee

no need to delete...and mod can you move this for him?

I have the same issues with my 08 (though I have not had a problem in over 9 months). Try taking the back-plate off the key and wiggling the battery. For me, the battery was not making the proper contact in the FOB...so a little change with the battery placement may help...

You are on the correct site. Just wrong sub-forum on the site

Radio tower interference can definitely be a problem. My fob works fine at home but when i am at work parked in the same parking lot of a microwave tower makes the range much much less. I have to be almost on top of the vehicle for it to work. This also goes for another vehicle of mine with a viper alarm. FYI

Have you checked the fuses? Have you ever driven thru any substantial amounts of water?
Are you able to duplicate any of the problems or are they completely random? Do they occur at the same location, or at different locations?

I live ON an AFB so I'm not buying the base being the problem argument. However, if I had similar problems and I lived on or even near a base, that might be on my checklist of possible conclusions.

And nothing personal, but I'm not 100% sold that you're not a troll. You did afterall, just join today. Again, if I had near the problems that you allegedly have, I would have been on the google machine and found JeepGarage long before today. This place pops up in the top 3-5 every time you search a Jeep inquiry.
