Exclamation Leaky headlights

Hi all,

On the second set of headlights on my brand new WK2 limited and sad to say, these are also accumulating condensation when it rains or during a decent wash. The always-on reflectors are also discoloured on the upper side.

Have checked a number of WK2 GCs on showroom floors, yards and all have the same symptoms. Other Jeep models do not seem to.

This seems to be a possible design or manufacture flaw however according to a couple of dealerships this is normal... perhaps for jeep I think

Anyone here notice these issues on their or other WK2 GCs?

Would be interesting to have a poll on this, but no idea to set it up.

Re: Leaky headlights

We had a very very wet spring and I often wash my WK2 and no water leakage or condensation issues with any of the lights.

Re: Leaky headlights

Well, the HID projector lens look like they have smudges on it from being wiped and I dare say there is a partial finger print. This is only on the driver side.

The reflectors in both sides are discoloured on the top side. I'd take a guess, it's a combination of the heat from the bulb and condensation.

I've attached a few photos for those that are interested.

Re: Leaky headlights

I've only had it a month, but no problems so far.

However, I should mention I live in an arid climate and condensation only happens on tall ice-cold drinks.

I'm new to the forum, but most of the car forums I belong to have the ability to list where you are from under your user name -- which I find really helps in diagnosing a lot of issues. Is there something I'm missing or is that feature not available here?

Thanks. I hadn't even noticed until now that it shows up over on the right side. Mumbling to myself, read the screen dummy ....
