Here's a pic of my drivers bolster. Normal wear or no? Thanks for the opinions.

Thanks, defiantly more wear there than the other seats/bolsters, but I assumed it was normal. Thanks for the input.

Re: leather seats waranty claim

Yeah, looks fine.

The Drivers side bolster will always be the first to go (it's the only seat that always has someone in it).

Fact of life.

Leather, Vinyl, Cloth, doesn't matter, those bolsters will always get the crap beat out of em.

pensfan414 - that looks normal

damien79 - you top photo looks a bit more than normal so I would keep a watch on it to see how it wears going forward

So the Bolster can be replace? Either way it will require stitching etc.. I thought it would be the who seat replaced. Am I wrong or it would only be the section in question to be replaced.

That could go either way. Some manufactures allow outsourcing to local upholstery shops to replace the damaged part. Some will have the dealer change the entire cover, which is not as big a deal as it used to be.

In your case, I'd say no warranty work is applicable.

Re: leather seats waranty claim

It all looks like normal wear .Keep it clean and moisturize it once in a while and it should be ok for the life of your vehicle.
The quality of this leather is in my opinion quite good.
Enjoy your vehicle.

I have had leather seats for years and I think yours look fine. Keep them treated and they will last for years.

I wouldn't call it cheap but I'd call it soft. It's a very soft seat cover. It's the price you pay for any leather seat though. It helps if you don't slide out and down. Kinda lift yourself out, feels weird to do at first but will become a habit to exit that way.

Actually it is big deal to replace the cover on the seat bottom. When I first got my WK2 the driver's seat bottom was very loose to the point it was bunched up with folds. It was loose like that when got it with 6 miles on it. Dealer replaced the seat bottom after getting the OK from Jeep. This wasn't from wear, just too much leather so a manufacturer issue. They needed my Jeep left overnight, gave me a loaner vehicle as it was going to take hours to remove the seat, etc. With all the wiring and heated and cooled seats, to replace the bottom cover was no fun for them is what they told me.
